I need a laughing emoji to respond to this. He is week in week out one of our better players. Defence isnt a one man game, there are 5 at the back that need to work together - unfortunately it's not happening. This starts with the keeper, who should not be captaining the side.
Well yeah no shark I'm aware that the rest of the defense isn't functioning well genius but there's more limitations on imports and so higher expectations. Also definitely not one of our better week in week out, just better than the rest of our defense that isn't working well.
I don't really think that Wooton is that great for a import slot. Really could've recruited better there.

There is nothing wrong with him as an A League standard defender but it's a classic sign of a malfunctioning defence when a player is dividing his attention too much between what's in front of him and what's behind him.

for me it's not Wootton, it's Payne. When he was playing out wide his frailties weren't as exposed, but in the centre he seems lost. sittting too deep, keeping players onside and not keeping with the line. Laws dd way better. Wootton is constantly covering for Payne. Neither is really tall for a CB, which Laws offers a bit more of which helps with defensive headers.
couple of good chances late in the ahlf, unlucky not to get one of them. not a bad first 45, hopefully we can connect and come out strong for the second.
If Zawada had just smashed that late chance in instead of limply sidefooting it I might've thought we could get something out of this game, but CIty are such a good side it will be extremely difficult to hold them out in the second half.
Obviously not other wise he probably wouldn't be here. Gets me these comments that we could have recruited better. I'm sure the recruiting team would love some tips on how they go about getting these players to sign.
Decent first half for the boys. Not overawed against a strong city side, and we held our own for much of the half. Disappointing to concede right after we took the lead though. Hopefully more energy and concentration to begin the second stanza as we fell right off about the half hour mark and they seemingly had all the ball (as well as our sloppy retention and misplaced passes straight to them).
We're a very decent watch this season which is the most pleasing aspect tuning into this one.
Big second half coming up, hopefully we can get these three points and move through a bit of congestion on the ladder.

Hot tip: recruit someone who can put a ball into an empty net from five yards out!
Disappointing result. We are dropping points when we shouldnt be - will struggle to make the top 6 this year and then we lose half the squad again. Let hope Ufuk stays and most of the squad also so we can build moving forward
If you want to F--k around with the ball when time is rapidly running out, there will be a price to pay and we did, a 3rd goal for them. Those last 10 minutes were frustrating. Some great city saves but man, we muck around trying to two touch everything. Sometimes, you just have to trust instinct and let fly first time.. mucking around with throw ins. They should take more than 10 seconds, but know, we muck around. Frustrating!
Happy with the performance but disappointed with the result, we actually dominated City which is good to see, only if we could be clinical in front of goal.....
We won't win the league with Zawada leading the line. He works hard and contributes to the team but he doesn't have a scoring instinct. Sasse too quiet again. Kosta involved, unlucky not to score. The full backs very good today. Team left it all on the pitch. Ultimately not our day today
Seemed like we deserved a draw there. But little moments of quality and organisation made the difference.
Not unreasonable to expect us to nail a couple of those chances. They tried to gift us one off a keeper error but we fluffed it. And we didn't take any of the others. That headed City goal looked way too simple. If Wooten is goal side and just focused on his job, or if Sail comes, it's a different outcome.
Competitive against the League leaders, but they handled the big moments better.
Entertaining enough. A pretty good 'Nix side. Somewhat unfortunate, but mainly just how good we were or weren't in key moments. A win was possible.
Enjoyed the game at the stadium, but could have been so much better.
As wasteful as we were with our chances, we can't deny the fact that we are walking the rope each time we defend. Sail's positioning has been awful this season hence the leaking goals.
I reckon we need another good CB. Someone who is able to read the game well as well as keep the rest of the team on par. Wootton is that type somewhat, but it seems that he needs a good partner at the back with him as well.
1. We are slow: The starting front 6 are devoid of express pace. The fast twich muscle fibre we lost in Piscopo, Sotiro and more recently Waine has hurt us. This makes me ponder if the Nix recruitment team decided to change tack from last season to this or were players like Kosta expected to play a more central role but his form doesnt demand first team selection 2. Game plan: A mix of route 1 and croses from full backs into Zawada? I'm skeptical of the claim that we are a side that "likes to play football" 3. Passive formation/ intensity: We have conceded a quite a few goals this season. Are we currently tempering our attacking instincts to concentrate on not conceding? We lack aggresion both from individual players and our shape - no high full backs for example 4. Lewis: I'm a fan and think his form is good. The options to partner him as a second 6 are limited. All three are not automatic first 11 selections (Rufer, Ugarkovic, Pennington). A ball winner to complement Lewis like Cameron Devlin would allow Lewis to have more influence on the game 5. State of the team: Its been a fairly medeocre start to the season from my perspecitve. There is not a lot currently to suggest we are about to string a number of good performances together. I have seen a bit of Karunaratne and maybe that is where the clubs hopes lie.
