A good guess!
I thought LKH did well as a wide L midfielder. Beaten too easily at fullback this season, and might still be too error-prone to be a starting CB.
Also LBS should start IMO. He hasn't had much time on the ball but showed he can dribble out of tight situations, and can run at and beat defences. Shaping up like a really good player.
So:
AKH
Piper Hughes Wootton Sutton
LBS Retre Nagasawa LKH
Kosta Ishige

Based on Chiefy's comments (and the fact that he said he has at least tentatively decided a starting XI already), I'm thinking we are going to see this:

AKH
Piper Hughes Wootton LKH Sutton
Retre Nagasawa Walker
Kosta Ishige

Surely Piper further up. 442. Walker Rb. LKH in front of Sutton? Wait math…

Yeh no checks out

Piper up front as an old fashioned 9 makes sense for a player who's strong, good in the air but has a dodgy touch. He can barge past defenders and is a good target for long balls. Might mean a change of plan, or just a tactic to counter the high press.

If Sutton is able to start, as Chiefy seemed to be suggesting was possible in the post-match presser, I'd love to see this lineup:

AKH
Sheridan Hughes Wootton LKH
Retre Nagasawa Sutton
Kosta Piper Ishige

Unfortunately without Payne & Sheridan, away from home, with the form we have been in, there is no way Chiefy plays a back 4.

Riskier with Piper at the back than not!

Sutton might go across to RB/RWB, with LKH & Walker on the left

Happy Wellington anniversary everyone. Fire up!! 🔥💪🔥🔥

Please please please win! In fact it would be great if all Welly teams could win - Blaze and Firebirds also in action today.

Bringing a mate to watch at a bar with me. Probably not the best time to be doing that but hey, they gotta win away eventually right?

🔥🔥Fire up🔥🔥

The injury list may be long, but as others have said before me - the slump has to end sometime, so why not tonight!

Also I'd like to see Kosta score his 100th tonight - So all I'm asking for is a win and a Kosta goal

COYN!

Park the bus for 90 mins with 5 at the back. Can't wait.

I'd play Piper forward ie not at RB/RWB even with Sheridan and Payne both out.
He may have a poor first touch, but his all action mindset makes things happen, and brings some excitement at least.

Without that yes, it could be a very dire watch.

Good test this for the kids and co. On our day I think we are a better side than the bulls....hope that day is today!
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Likely a very inexperienced bench: LBS, Candy, Smith, Supyk, Conchie, Loke.
And Oluwayemi.
Result aside, it'll be interesting to see how they g9.

Watching Brattan kick Ishige is not my ideal pre-bedtime entertainment. But I may arm myself with a small voodoo doll of the bastard, and a sharp needle.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Bit of a bastard of a timeslot, but is there a pub in the city where people are meeting up for the game?

Excellent position top of the box for Supyk I think it was and he looks to pass to Barba who got crowded out.

Just have a go lad!

Piper and LKH both need covering is the problem…
We’re in trouble if they break that high press. It was a good surprise. Almost worked. But we need the fall back plan now.
