I've no issue with how the Nix have set up/been performing, I'm just lamenting that there have been 4 games at Sky Stadium since the win against Brisbane in early November and the Nix have only won 1 of those, with the rest being pretty unpleasant watches for the casuals (even the win was fairly dull until it exploded into life at the death). Such a shame that the Nix's general performance this season isn't translating into bigger crowds as a result.

When did they last get 12 thousand to a game in Welly? Come on. That’s a huge crowd for the Nix at home. Outside anomalies- end of COVID etc etc that’s a phenomenal regular season crowd. Most of those guys follow the team, watch the tele and understand the situation.
The casuals didn’t come back after whacking day.

Fire up !
I do remember we spent a whole unsuccessful season trying to get 10k through the gates

Exactly- here we blew it out of the water. Ten k on its own has been difficult for the lifetime of the Nix. This was that and another 2 k clear.

This kit business though 🤦‍♂️.

Peak A League!

Come on Phoenix, do this nice and easy and save my blood pressure from going through the roof.

LOL Kraev wearing unnamed shirt number 49

Peak a-league

How about that from Rufer: robs Penha then beats him on the touchline a few seconds later.

....and it leads to a goal.

This week no Kaltak and Kraev at the back stick.
Happy now?

No card for Risdon? How does he do it? He just lined him up and hit him with a shoulder. In league he’s in the bin for a no arms tackle.

Shoulder to the head.  That ain't even legal in League or Union

We’re sitting too deep in defense.

Don't want to get too overexcited at this stage but I'm really happy for Pennington scoring that goal. Another little marker on his continuing development this season.

i seem to remember while we didnt get a 12k there was a higher average home attendance in the Rudan season. I was hoping to see consistently better crowds

On a regular Saturday there’s always weddings/kids sport/family commitments/lawn and hedge/etc etc…we don’t know why people don’t turn up, but it’s not just goals and expansive football.

Fire up !

To be fair, the football could be the reason. Rudan didn't have the ladder but he had Williams and Krishna. It was an exciting team. The nix have scored early today and they are slipping into their old pattern of just taking it.

And the refs too weak to card for dissent and crowding the ref. That makes me nervous, as does the length of time before a yellow for persistent fouling was given.

And we were coming out of the end of Merrick and the dark Darje days. Rudan was entertaining and we were winning.

Rudan's wingback set up too, was exciting stuff.

Bit sloppy on attack here.

Pennington also off contract at season's end by the way. On a day like this you'd maybe wish he wasn't

Western playing the ref as much as us.

Kosta has had 3 little opportunities that have gone no further than him.

Barbarouses need to calm down and compose himself. Been awful over the past few

Turning into a bit of a dog fight as is the usual way this season. If we don't manage to get another goal things might get sticky second half when tired legs take effect.

Great game for Supyk tbh. Would also (obviously) love to see GSR get a run. Not sure Ball fits today, and hopefully Kosta’s calmed down a little - could use his pressing and the air of danger he brings

Good.

Pace on the ball out wide and into the box. Zawadington forces the O.G.

that was a similar 'handball' to what was given against Ball against CCM

Wow, better hope that's not an injury to Rufer. Noticeable drop off since he departed.

Crumbs I’m nervous.

We’ve gone all directionless and casual. Rufer and Al-Taay off. I hope you’re right Chief!
