If they just would listen to the coach we would be fine

61% possesion and 0.05 expected goals. No shots on goal. Sterile possesion, we couldnt create anything up front. The bench is just about all Academy youngsters.
Looks we are playing a 4231

Armiento offers a body on the pitch but not much else.

Until their goal they had one chance. Off a mistake. The reality is neither side created anything, them or us.

It was one of the most boring halves of football i have seen, but not the worst. We aren't being run ragged. There's just nothing to be excited about.

Yeah both sides are playing quite high defensive lines so it’s very crowded in the middle when you have the ball. And the long ball for both teams has been inconsistent because of the wind. This is where you need a Chico/Davila player to beat a couple players in the press and then play a pass in behind

Greeny will be in soon, maybe 3-4 more weeks surely. There is talent here and he will be able to integrate well with the academy lads.

Is the talent there? Out of our visas, who do you think would be picked up by another A League side?

Pleased to see Cassidy about to make his debut.

While I have only seen half an hour of football of him before, he impressed.

Mark my words he will be a gun and will replace Rufer next season if he heads off.

Auckland will rise once more

Did Italiano already lost the dressing room? Looks like they didn’t get the message at HT.

0.05 expected goals, WTAF, has it ever been that low for an A-League team?

Eze's saving grace there was that he was fouled off the ball first.

Couple of seasons ago it definitely would've been. He's extremely lucky.

Honestly dont mind that from Eze. Between the easy flopping and gentle soft speaking. Didn't know he had that aggro in him. Brisbane played silly buggers with him twice in the lead up. Fair enough get the fists out and tell them to fudge off.

No defence tho. If you punch someone doesn't matter what they did, it's on you

his goal to shot ratio is unbelievably low for a guy named rufer. My heart always sinks every time a chance drops to him

Piper on. I wonder if we will get the ball anywhere near him in the box. Things could happen if we do, but that's a big if.

Sure but he didn't punch him he grabbed at him enthusiastically off the ball and flailed his arms around making contact with the defender. But when he was fouled off the ball 2seconds earlier the contact was he was grabbed and pulled down. I think it was a red in normal circumstances, but given the last thing they looked at was the earlier foul and then they ended the review probably gives you an indication they didn't want to draw a line between what contact off the ball is a red and what is just enthusiastic tussling.

At least we got to be ahead of AFC on the table for one week this season, rather than 0.

We are not very good…. The Japanese are not adding anything more than being average journeymen. Any flow has been coached out of this squad!

And if Brisbane win, it will push AFC lower from the top, even lower if Adelaide beat Macarthur tomorrow night.
