That Sheridan shot. How can a professional footballer, who can spend the entirety of his working life practicing football, under zero pressure from a marker, shoot that poorly? Enough to make you weep

Rufer was no better for his first 8 years.

Italiano throwing his bottle of water because of Walkers stupid release in a tight spot... sorry Italiano, you picked him... your fault.
Chico being a bit held back by Walker imo. But not Walker’s fault. Apparently Ishige has an illness.

This is the most frustrated I have ever seen Kosta in a game

It's so annoying watching this because we have better players on the bench. By the time they come on we will probably need to take off some of Rufer, Payne, Geraldes as according to Chiefy they aren't currently fit to play 90. Would have been cool for us to have a crack with our best team for 45 minutes.

Well for positives, we aren't losing, Rufer and Geraldes playing well and we still have some quality to come off the bench.

MOTM so far, and it's not even close, are the Fever. Great noise, great energy, for the whole half. Amazing. Thankfully they're making a lot of noise because I've spent most of the half with my head in my hands not watching the game.

Positives: Rufer has put a lot more gristle back into the defensive third. Geraldes continues to show he is top notch. Some good confident takes by AKH suggest he has shrugged off his uneven performance last week.
Need to rev things up a bit in the 2nd half and risk losing. A stodgy point ain't much use to us.

We need to win right??
If Chief gets resigned I will lost my sharke. He is the most negative coach we have ever had, the way we play is embarrassing to football.
3 of our 5 imports are on the bench - and one of them won't get on bar an injury.
The imports are wrong, the tactics are wrong and his messaging all swason has been incoherent.
We better be a different team in the second half and show some intent on the press and actually having a bit more ball.

Well... I was certainly expecting something other than what we've seen so far...
Wasn't expecting a win but, you know... something...? Anything?

Also this time last game we were 3-0 down. So that’s something.

I feel like what we are doing is working except that final third where the opposition just needs to mark up Kosta.
What could have been if Rojas had been fit all season and is knee deep in form right now.
Still feel like we have fluffed some chances and so have Melbourne. Game could really go either way. Hopefully ours.
COYN!!!!!

Different team in the midfield every week. Between the limits of the kids and the lack of well oiled combinations it's all very hit n hope.

What is apparent is there is a hugh gap between the midfield and the front players.
It needs some of those midfield players to drive centrally forward with the ball at times to reduce the space.
Also the full backs are not doing much to help out

It's been the case for a while now, but we really don't deserve to make the finals this season.
As for these 6 or 7 wins that we require, well I'm struggling to see where we'll get 1 or 2...
Prove me wrong for fudge sake lads. Prove me fudgeing wrong.

TILIO BLASTS MELBOURNE CITY IN FRONT! It's been coming! Phoenix choke up possession inside their own half, with an underhit return pass from Paulo Retre failing to reach Tim Payne. Kavian Rahmani pounces, before Andreas Kuen slide the ball across the face of the penalty area towards Max Caputo. He lets Marco Tilio run onto the ball to shoot instead of taking it on himself and Tilio emphatically strikes the ball low past Alby Kelly-Heald from twelve yards out. How will Wellington Phoenix respond now?!
How will we respond? Ideas??

retre's cooked 8 minutes in to the second half. no recovery. gives the ball away (again) dives in to a tackle from behind that doesn't even stop the play and jogs back to the next phase. rubbish
