Must win game for our play off chances. Zawada & Lewis back for us, Victory will be without Romero & Cadete due to suspension.

3pm on a Saturday, with senior men's football kicking off. Hmmm what effect on attendance?

Weather's looking shark too, not great for the Nix unfortunately. Hopefully people show though.

This was one of fixtures originally planned to be in Auckland.

Wish it was a 5pm kick off, it would have allowed those who play football to attend

Can't wait to see Zawada back out there, hopefully Lewis will be ready to start alongside Rufer in midfield again.

Really should be winning this game but in saying that a lot of the games we should win we haven't like when we played them last time. They'll be without Cadete, Romero, and Brimmer so we really just need to keep Fornaroli quiet. Excited to see Lewis back in the team and see if he was the missing piece while he was out.

Oh ffs, Nix say we are playing in yellow for both matches & Victory saying they are playing in fluro for the men's cuz we have nominated the blue kit for it (yellow for the ALW). What a cluster.

Jesus what a cluster fudge.

Though I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't enjoy the sheer stupidity of yellow vs fluro yellow.

Has any team in football had more clashes with their jersey than the Nix?

For a professional club it truely is a cluster fudge.

For the sponsors it’s fantastic as it makes people ask why. Oh it’s a cluster because they have two sponsors and it draws attention to those guys

Getting true bang for their buck

Generally he's a good ref. I like the way when players go down easily he is less inclined to award a foul.
But for some reason it seems he doesn't like the way the Phoenix play. 0 wins when he's ref'ing backs that up. Always seems to whistle us up for everything.

Cadete is included in the MV squad. Even though he got his 5th yellow card last game??
Maybe because his real name is Enrique Lopez he's gone under the radar?

Another question there is given he’s been one of the top refs why have Victory had him ref them twice what we have?

Time to start putting some numbers in the wins column!

Victory has had 4 more losses under him than we have and only 3 more wins than we have.

Time to make it only 2 more wins.

unresearched speculation on my part but being Iranian he may need Visa to come to NZ so for him to ref over here may require extra admin.  Hence only a potential ref for us when we are away, hence 1/2 as many games.

If we end up playing at home in Navy blue vs Victory in their away yellow, it is a complete joke. Surely BOTH clubs can use some common sense here, ffs. I doubt there is a fan from either side who would want their team wearing the away kit in this.

Hard to know how official the twitter accounts are though... I have no idea if it's some 15 year old kid getting work experience or the CEO posting the messages.

It will be 'peak A-League' if both teams walk out in the same colours.

He is Brisbane based iirc, so was restricted to games in Queensland for most of the Lockdown seasons.

It's because we like to invite a press and playout to create space, he just lets teams hack and disrupt our build up. Haven't been that impressed with him most often

He tends to let things go early and at the end of the match, you get yellows for breathing the wrong way.

He is a FIFA World Cup level ref.   Of the various refs that presided over our games, he strikes me as someone without big howlers, like "awarding a dubious penalty" or "not awarding a clear penalty".  I do not have stats at hand, this is just my recollection.  Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Happened before with Victory and they spray painted the sand green to make it look like grass. Good thing was, we won the game.

Was hoping Lewis would be fit enough to start I guess we'll see him come on at half time if we're not doing well or around 60 again. Elliot must've picked up a knock in the all-whites game to be on the bench?  Don't mind Ball on the bench as the game plan might be to utilise Kosta in behind.
