Still nearly 28 degrees in Melb. I think that explains some of the recent dodgy-ness at the back.

Couldn't create a chance if we tried, but my god our defence has never looked so well organised and resilient.

I'm going to enjoy all the comment threads over on Facebook tonight. Well done boys - previous Nix teams would've collapsed HARD tonight.

We were poor but if it wasn't for some right dog shark VARing we would have had 3 points.

VAR has to go robbed us like it did the AWs in Qatar last year.

I'll take that, similar to the WSW game, hot arse conditions and we battle a draw, historically we get smashed, but our defence holds and we remain unbeaten. Ifwe can make our home a fotress and we can hold points in away games then we'll be in good a good spot come end of the season.

To be fair it was 12 on 11.  Ref was playing for Victory but De Silva was playing for us

Well that was awful to watch, lacked any bravery or intent.

On the plus side we played shut and got a draw, says a lot about the potential.

No shots on goal is unacceptable though.

Also Rufer sucks.

I've seen some horrible Nix games down the years but that one is right up there! Still, a fantastically valuable point and a scrappy spirited performance from our, let's face it, very average team.

VAR aside, happy to take a point in Melbourne, this is a really good Mel Victory side and our defence was really tight, well done boys.

I feel like this is how good teams win competitions, hard point away against a decent WSW, hard point ground out against a top of the table this season victory. Both way from home, as long as we take the points at home against these teams we finish high on the table if not take it out.

Wasn't pretty but I'll take it, like that wsw game was a good defensive performance for the full 90. A Talay nix side would have let in 3 or 4 tonight.

Unbeaten in 4, first equal in the league.

Well, the refs had a shocker, but given what the players and the coaches serve up at times, he’s allowed the odd one.

The Pennington offside is simply wrong if that is the image.

Tbh the other ones are tight calls and the overruled handball is just a nervy call.

Happy with a point today, but hope we have a bit more threat later in the season. Zawada immense. Good to see Chief trusting the depth of our squad.
Edit: Payne too, immense. They kept coming and he kept tackling and blocking.

he's carrying a fair bit of weight, might need to join the boys in the gym for his and our own benefits.

Loved watching our slick passing when we clicked into a transition, but I also think we looked a bit gassed for the last ten minutes.

Is Sutton’s haircut the real reason he’s been sidelined?

By the way. Their goal came only because Pennington took his foot off the accelerator after the corrupt yellow card.

surprised I am still alive, following since day one and have the ambos on speed dial for that reason. I think we bottled up Victory well enough tonight, dont forget we were up against a very hot attack tonight. Two best strikers in the league and neither got a sniff. Out goal I am pretty sure came from the Victory defender knowing OZ was right behind him for the tap in so had to make the lunge

Those possession and passing stats tell a story, don't they. We might have struggled to get shots away but if you hold the ball half the time you have a degree of control, your D gets a break and you have something to build on.
Fantastic organisation and D again and this side has ticker.
They had no shots all game. Yeh, bro. And you couldn't beat us. And we'll get better.

Like our last good result in Melbourne, Kosta was the difference at the pointy end.

Cool to think we are the only side in A League history with a goal and a point without a single shot on goal!

I'm assuming Paulsen will be MoM? He was very good all night. Great punching to clear the high balls, safe work with his feet, good smothering saves.

Can't see how any outfielder would get near him. I'm talking about among the Nix of course. The commentary team will almost certainly give their MoM to a MV player.

They did say we should have had a pen and that Victory should have got a yellow based on his yellow for diving with more contact. Correctly me if im wrong but they all but said our goal was because the defender knew OZ was there for a tap in if he didnt slide in for it. So we would have gone one shot for one goal. Two from two if the pen was called ;) then again, that resets everything after so who knows.

How about the fact that they spent more time talking about Arzani than our entire team

Not to mention that for all the commentators talk of "Victory should've had 3 or 4", they actually only racked up 1.24xG (0.90 of that in the first half). A lot of their shots were from unthreatening positions, and after the first 30-40ish minutes, they didn't really make any inroads at all.
