Paulsen’s record bolstered by three excellent goal line clearances this season!

And it just gets even better.

Clean sheet AND a goal without Zawada! What were we worried about again?

I watched that in the pub ,but it looked to be a great game from both sides, and the Phoenix played as well as I've seen them.

We are top of the league...

Massive W!
What a team performance, it's gritty and not always pretty, but against a top team you need everyone pulling in the same direction - That's what we got. Can't ask anything more of the lads, some of them (Payne) will be absolutely buggered.

Well deserved win. Decent watch for the fans and those at home as well. Damn proud of this team and this club! COYN!

Loving Chief’s team of tacklers.

I forgot how much I appreciated a tenacious midfielder. And touchwood many many cleanly won challenges at that.

Watching Rufer, Pennington, Al-Taay, Kosta…and the calmness of  Wootton and Surman winning header after header.

Just really need one of the midfield to pick up the skill of a Scholes/Brown late run into the box to put games away and I’ll be more than a happy camper!

I was hugely impressed with his composure. Played a big part in that win.

Also I thought Surman stepped up to a new level today. He suddenly looks like a fully formed, quality A League defender rather than a greenhorn learning his trade.

Kosta is playing well - great to see his form picking up again.

Pathetic. Not apathetic.

Difficult to tell from tv and what stands had people in them or not. Was the crowd announced?

Auckland will rise once more

Ok. You asked for it.
First half, Pennington was Man of the Match and if we'd had Zawada,  we'd have come in 2-0 up at half time.
2nd half Pennington's legs went a bit and the importance of Rufer, Al Taay and Payne was clear.

Pennington aside.  Great team performance. If these academy kids are the real deal, what an amazing academy.

I still have to pinch myself that this is our nix team. So much spirit and it seems like they’re repaying chiefy’s belief in them by the bucket load at the mo. Great performance, Payne playing like a man possessed and everyone playing beyond their potential and expected levels. Fudge yes. Let’s keep it going, fudgeing brilliant.

Always enjoyed Dan mchardy’s radio work.  He’s the only reason I listen to senz tbh…and I’ve only seen the highlights today.  But I think I liked it…a lot.  It was like Andrew Voss/rugby league meeting football.  Cool.  Piney and Dan would make a great combo I reckon.

He may has well have been a like for like Piney replacement. His enthusiasm was infectious and it took the viewing experience up a whole level. He genuinely could have been calling us on the receiving end of a 6 nil drubbing and I would have still thought "oh well it's still not too bad..."

Anyone watching the Sydney derby hoping Sydney FC score? A win for SFC or a draw sees us outright top of the league.

Anyone know how long its been since we've been outright leaders??

Also go Uffy!

World wide grass shortage, no elastic for referees socks… something big is coming. There’s no way a season where we win games, have clean sheets, and top the table will be allowed to continue by those cheating aussies

You have to wonder what Ufuk Talay makes of the Phoenix start to the season. He heads off and his assistant gets the top job assumedly as the club can’t afford a new coach. Italiano is on a shoe string budget and can’t sign much new talent. Dips into the reserves while bringing the best out of most existing seniors and so far he’s doing much better.

The owners of the Club can afford to sign a perceived top coach, but they choose to run to a budget.

Alot of the players seem to have grown another foot under Chiefy, Rufer seems tohave added another dimension to his play, or he is just finally playing as he has always been capable of. His composure on the ball this season has been sublime.

Queenslander 3x a year.
