The silver lining about Zawada inevitably leaving at season's end is it seems he maybe isn't the best fit for Chiefy's system, despite how genuinely great he is. We have always looked fine with a front three of Ball, Kosta & Kraev this season. Hopefully we can get Kraev to stay, though that'll be an uphill battle too
Edit: and if Kosta & ball don't need upgrading then they'll likely need replacing sooner rather than later, getting up there in age
Will be interesting to see what chiefy does with zawada when he returns to full fitness, seems to like the mobility that kosta, Ball and Kraev offer. At least with Kraev operating up front we dont lose too much height.

A bit revisionist in terms of Zawada, I can't understand how there can be any doubt that the team is better with a fit Zawada on the field. He's just as mobile as Ball, taller and far more of a goal threat (for what its worth I rate Ball very highly), he attracts attention from defenders and is adept at holding the ball up deep.
I feel like we change the gameplan when Zawada plays to the teams detriment.
If we had Zawada playing in any of these players roles we would be firing
Assuming Zawada can/is willing to play in this setup to the same level he does when we use him as the target man.
I'm pretty sure Chiefy specifically called out Zawada in his game plan, as wanting him to drop deep and link up the play in the midfield, as well as score goals. I'm not one to gush over players but after one loss, calling that we either are a better team without him or that he doesn't fit the game plan is a bit loose.
Well I thought WE were too negative, but at least we tried to hit them on the break quite a few times. Should be 2 up at least.
MacArthur have been woefully negative and deserve to be down.
If the ref was consistent, there would be at least 4 more in the book
I dont really like the negative/positive desctriptor........ all tactivs have both "negative and positive" aspects, we clearly set up to sit back and attack on the counter when we are away, we a re little more possession focussed at home. Personally I like the way we play away, it means we dont lose and we can steal wins which we used to struggle to do, whilst making our home a fortress.
Ben Old is having a bloody good game. Hopefully he can stay fit and keep contributing up in that final ⅓. He's got that x-factor.
What's that a goal and an assist in what must amount to about 200 odd minutes of play so far this season. Keep it up lad.
Old is that guy who has what probably no one else in our current squad has and can actually square up a defender and go around them 1 on 1. Potential to be a real big player for the nix if he can stay fit

We also have more attackers and less midfielders on the park. I think this is more about us tailoring how we play to counter Macarthur rather than down to any one player.
