Fabulous win, only slightly marred by Metlink only putting on one carriage. Then telling a full train to get off cause it was the front two cars only. Utter shambles as usual
It's actually just so cringe. From memory he did the same to Sail after the Perth game (although I may be remembering it wrong) imagine being a grown ass man pulling that weak crap...
That Goran guy on Sky needs a lesson in professional humility. I'm no fan of Rudan but his post match sneering at him and calling him a loser is out of line in my opinion.

I didn't catch it. What happened?
Giving rudan shark for being on the losing side. It was very unbecoming and as much as I don’t like rudan, it wasn’t necessary.
Anyway, I enjoyed that game, it was a very balanced game between two well drilled teams. I felt like a goal was coming after the two were ruled out, although I did think ball had fudgeed it for us prior to the kraev attempt by not shooting and passing instead. So very pleased for Kosta, you always know he’s always trying his hardest, and now for one reason or another, it’s finally clicking. Fudgeing yes! Crowd was nice and loud on tv so well done to those who were able to make it! Hopefully convince a few more to head along next time round.
Merry nixmas everyone, top of the fudgeing league!
Next time someone has a whinge about an Aussie commentator remember Paladin. None of them are this cringeworthy infantile.
Great win Nix. It's scarcely believeable, given how written off they were in the season buildup. Next up a very tasty trip to Uffie's SFC next Friday 29th Dec.
This is hands down one of my favourite wins at the cake tin of all time. Top of the league at Christmas, everyone slightly sozzled and singing like they're... A little bit more than sozzled. The stoppage time double. Beautiful. This team is bloody humming at the moment. But maybe my favourite part was the redemption arc of Kosta. Truly was the culmination of his hometown-boy-come-good narrative this season. He thoroughly deserved the goal and assist, and has done all damn season. We've never properly loved him as a fan base before this season, in any of his stints really, but jeez he's worked his arse off this year. What a man
Rufer's best season in a yellow shirt so far. What a fudgeing guy. Rejuvenated his career playing in the absolute perfect role. Long passing/switching has been faultless this season and his ability to play out of trouble is so refined now.
He has been excellent for the Phoenix since his ACL recovery. So composed, quick thinking, uses his body protecting the ball as good as anyone and his vision improving all the time. Deserves an All Whites call up.

Thought WSW maybe had the better chances across the 90 - a couple of those balls flashed across the front of goal were inches from finding someone. Can't fault the work from the lads though. Kosta and Old seem to just keep getting better this season. Only thing missing was a Paulsen penalty save
7294 was a great crowd considering it was raining. I heard about 8-9k was sold if you include memberships so the rain pre match must of put a few off. Both goals amazing crowd celebration
That last assist from Kosta was something amazing. Most players in the a league play that early and either the defender intercepts it or makes the shot difficult. He holds and holds and holds and plays a perfectly weighted curving pass between the defenders, which Old can run onto, retaining his balance and poise and hit first time.
I can't believe that idiots online think that this should have been allowed, because there's an urban myth that you can kick off without the other team if they all leave the field. No. Voerman tells the idiots off in the replies
You know when you fantasise "Oh but imagine if they cracked it in extra time." And it never happens. Except this time it did happen. Twice. For me it was that emotional hit that sums up exactly what I love about supporting a football team. That buzz doesn't come around every match. Got to savour the feeling. Wish I'd been able to be In the stands arm in arm with you lot today. I bet the atmosphere was electric!
Couldn’t have said it better. We did struggle to get chants going, I think a lot of people were waiting for something to happen to start to get their voice up. However those last 10 minutes though, can’t remember a time it was like that (I didn’t go to the 3-0 back home win against Western U), amazing experience Rock Hopper

You guys get grumpy about the dumbest shark. God help us if a commentator has any personality.
It was completely harmless, maybe a bit stupid but totally harmless. I've seen way worse things said on a broadcast or in the papers. Silly thing to get bent out of shape about.
The Aussie fans think it is fairly funny on reddit and Twitter apart from a few WSW fans. This forum's showing its age a bit I think.

This Forum would absolutely fly into an unhinged rage if one of the Aussie commentators said that live about any Nix coach after a game. The anti Nix conspiracies would go into overdrive.
Paladin is enthusiatic and obviously loves the sport, but he has form for saying totally clueless, tactless stuff. 2 seasons ago I think it was when the Nix beat WSW at a pumping Eden Park (so ending the Wanderers season), when both teams were pushing for the playoffs. Post game first question he asked a gutted Keanu Baccus "so how good is this crowd?" Like Baccus gave a fudge about the crowd at that moment. A really dumb question to the vanquished captain.
Him & Drewhurst are the equal of any of the most sychophantic Aussie callers, if not worse.

But yeah great Nix win.
Yeah, there's one thing we can totally agree on, fantastic win last night - I'm still buzzing!
The weird thing is, I'm fairly confident we will see more of these performances from this bloody fantastic team 👏. We need to get a longer contract in front of chiefy!!
Paladin's comment was better than Coneys on the radio covering the cricket yesterday.
Made the comment that the Sri Lanka opener after his 100 should surely be able to find a bat sponsor now... there must be a Four Square out there somewhere in Sri Lanka willing to.
He realised what he said and tried to talk out of it... casual racism at its worst.

at the Perth game he was having a go at Sail, then asked Rufer in the interview how he was going to stick it to Sail after the game and Rufer was like, why the fudge would I do that?
Thing is that Rudan is not just a former Nix coach. We would never behave that way to Talay or Merrick when their teams visited. The animus comes from the way he left. Plus, you know, the whole stalker/USB/listen here fudge face thing. Aussie fans in general know he's a deeply disreputable character, no matter how much money he puts on the bar to try to blunt the YF as a factor in the game.

thought it was funny, could have done without him talking to Ben Old about how Paladins fiance beat them both (she was Olds teacher) though.

That is quite bad considering Sri Lanka weren't even playing.
