Hardly a glowing write up but better than a slap in the face with a wet fish.
The Wellington Phoenix: In the Hyundai A-League the Phoenix aren�t exactly a powerhouse feared by the opposition (though they aren�t push-overs either), but when it comes to playing at home, they are unbeaten. The Phoenix haven�t lost a game at home since sometime last year which is great for the masses of supporters that go every week to the games, above and beyond the Yellow Fever. And while the draws were getting dull it�s still better than a loss.

so two out of three replies draw attention to perceived factual errors or an awry tone in that web nomination- no wonder football fans have a rep as being whingers (And no i am not saying specifically that you are Junior or toffeman) just mean that this site, Wellingtonista, is primarily an arts./culture based site and yet here they are trumpeting the Nix (And all Whites) as a cultural experience and they should be heralded for giving good exposure rather than being picked apart for their perecieved failings.

yes, i suppose its the any publicity is good publicity theory
ignore me- i've had too much choc caramel slice and am a little jumpy
I do think however that all us football fans could be a little more gracious about accepting plaudits when they are laid at our feet-the lifespan of the mayfly, to use Mike Laws poor analogy, means we should take our wins where and however they come

I was there, it was a good night.
Not many Phoenix fans in attendance; I think more people who actually turned up to the event were fans of the Roller Derby (which is also pretty damn good fun)
