Yellow Fever in the PN (ticketing stress)

Ok, well the second phone number got me a nice lady who seemed to know what was going on and said they'd already dealt with quite a few people with the same issue today.

She said if I dropped in to the Ticketek agent in Waikanae, they could just ring the same number I did to get her, and they could send the ticket to the Waikanae agent's printer direct.

Went to Waikanae agent and explained the situation. They didn't know what was going on (fair enough, they're just New World staff with a printer) so rang up their Ticketek person to find out how it should work.

The instructions they got and passed on to me were exactly the same as what I got from the first number I rang up earlier today.

So after I explained that, the agent rang up the number that I rang second, but clearly didn't get the same nice lady on the end of the phone, as they didn't know what to do either, and said the only way I could get a ticket was by ringing ANOTHER number.

So, then I go home, with no ticket, and ring this third number, and (presumably by co-incidence) end up talking to the same nice lady I spoke to earlier. She was confused why the agent hadn't been able to do it there and then, but as I was no longer at the agent, couldn't doing anything about it now.

In the end, she arranged for me to pick the ticket up at the stadium in Palmerston.

Long story short... why on earth can't they email the ticket for me to print, like they often do for other events.

Or even better, why can't i just use my season pass! Crazy!

Bought my ticket in PN (Some of us do buy ahead of time). Requested Fever Zone but staff had no idea what I was talking about. So have Gen Admission -Public (and it cost me $23 !!!). If I can't join the Zone I will be seriously p#ssed off along with many others it seems.
To be honest I don't know how they would separate the Zone from the rest anyway. Other than the grandstand the seating is more like benches. Easy to stand but don't lean too far forward or get too excited or you''ll start a domino effect!!!!!!

Yep, but see above. You'll have to ring up first to get one allocated to you, then they'll arrange for you to pick it up.

sounds like a shambles, lets just have the zone and then make it bigger by standing on the edges....

I mean it's only Palmy, we are relaxed about things up here, just don't steal the ball, that guy is still in hospital hahaha

I just hope they're prepared for a stampede of people needing to swap their GA - Track tickets for GA - Fever tickets on Saturday.

Again, Ticketek have annoyed me.

Here is my experience from earlier this week...
  • Firstly, I phoned ticketek - on hold for a while, and then managed to speak to someone who told me that I was better to go an pick them up at a ticketek outlet as posting may not arrive in time.
  • So my second attempt saw me go to my nearerst ticketek counter on the way to the gym, but..... they did not know how to do it (of course) and they said i should go right across town to the MFC branch (I could sense that this may become a long lunch break and that I would not be getting to the gym!)
  • Off I went to MFC for my third attempt to get a ticket - MFC told me that I could not get it without showing my pass, which i did not have on me. I knew my member number and so questioned how they could do it over the phone with just the member number. The response that I got was that there was no way they could do it because they have a process to follow (I guess that is not the fault of the person that I was speaking with).
  • So, I was told to get the ticket in Palmy... i got a bit stroppy (not agressive, just letting it known that I didn't want that hassle, and also didn't want to risk being told that I could not get a ticket when I got there) anyway, she said she'd break their process to do it for me "this time only, but next time bring your pass". I felt like I'd been told off, but hey, I'm about to get my ticket - maybe -
  • Next I was told that they could not find me in the system because they have multiple databases and don't have access to the actual members database (maybe this is part of the problem!?).
  • We searched under my name, address, phone number, email adrees and finally found my details, registered under an old phone number from a couple of years ago (I know that I have previously asked them to delete this old number and given them my new number, which they definately had as they phoned me to get the payment for the 16 season passes that I bought!).
  • Anyway, having found me I was told that i ONLY had a 2007 ticket and was definately not in there as a member this year! Apparently there was definately no record of me in 2009 (or 2008), no record of my address despite all 16 member passes being posted there! (eventually), and no record of my current number anywhere.
  • So I was told that they could not issue my ticket but they suggested again that i try in Palmy. I said that I'm not happy doing that, but the Ticketek lady said that she could not do anything more and suggested that i come back later in the week (why? I guess they just wanted me to go away),
  • So I took out my phone to call the Phoenix directly and she quickly said "oh, I'll call them"  2 minutes later (now about 2 hours into my "lunch break")she'd got my details from the 'Nix and had printed my ticket....

Why is it so difficult... ? ? ? I guess that I should not be suprised, afterall they have stuffed up my season pass for 3 years running, getting worse each time - this year they could not get my season pass to me until late October, despite booking when they first went on sale. grrr.

Ticketek don't seam to be able to handle the ticketing for the Phoenix time and time again. I think the nix have given them a fair shot to fix the issues but maybe it is now time to look for an alternative ticketing outlet.

I suggest that you make sure you have your ticket if you don't already!

according to the 'In the Nix' there are a 'limited' number of free tickets for season ticket holders being held at the FMG Stadium - need to go to Waldegrave St entrance and show your pass

I just got Smithy's at Michael Fowler Centre in the last 30 minutes.  Couldn't do Wilso and mine as we didn't have our season ticks with us (our fault).

The staff there reckon we'll be fine to do it tomorrow AM before we head north.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Again sucks to hear about this Crap.

Must say i want in yesterday, just flashed my card (The Lady barely looked at it), and got asked General or YellowFever. And in under a minute form entering had my ticket. Just good luck i guess.

Same here (done over a month ago but). Ticketek just looked at the cards - no scrutiny - and then checked up on their database (used phone number).

Some inconsistencies with experiences above - maybe depends on who you get at the counter on the day.

well a sensible guess would be the yellow are. Because it is yellow (fever) and the only place you are allowed to stand....

I'm not a season ticket holder (yea, my bad) so went to the ticketek website to buy a ticket but there doesn't appear to be a listing for Saturday's game ....

The Search Enquiry came back with the following;
"Could not find any events in the category Sports, in Manawatu, on Sat 12 Dec 2009."

So, do I just rock up to the stadium tomorrow and hope to buy a ticket?

You should find it if you just go to 'Sports' and then click on the Phoenix bit. I was on there the other night but decided against getting it online since they wanted $8 to pick up the tickets.

Thats interesting considering its technically already 'paid for' under our season pass, there shouldnt be a time limit to getting the ticket surely...

Allegedly

It's true that tickets were supposed to have been collected by the 10th.

Not sure what the reason for that is though?

I guess because they have to hold X amount for members, and they know that not all are planning to show up, so this allows them to put the rest on general sale.

I suppose that could be it, although I don't think they are going to have a problem with regards to not be able to satisy demand for tickets

Whinge whinge whinge....

Seriously, I hope some of you guys get happy pills for Xmas....

I read the letter that was sent to me with my season pass, also read the In The Nix newsletter and saw the instructions on Phoenix and Yellow Fever websites and it was absolutely clear that I had to go to the MFC Ticketek, show my season ticket and collect a paper ticket prior to Thurs 10th Dec.

I followed these simple instructions (twice because I went back to get another on my mates pass) and it all happened simply and smoothly.....

Happy days are here again.....

I remember reading that on my season pass letter a few months ago. It was definitely there.

Is this what happens when you leave it to the very last minute to show up?? Bit like the AW's tickets. Some people actually thought you could turn up at the gate, buy a ticket and sit anywhere you liked. I know, I work with two guys who thought that, despite the game being announced as sold out 3 weeks prior to the game.

I got my PN and CHCH tickets in early November, no problems at all. Everything organised. Sit back, relax and enjoy watching the Nix.
