Might have to keep an eye on this thread, I'm looking at going to the match against the Victory in Jan and I sure as hell will be wearing yellow! I've got a friend over there I'll prolly crash with, but I'll try to drag her to the match as well. See if I can convert her from AFL, even if it means having her support the Victory...when they're not playing the 'nix of course haha.

How do we get tickets all together? The scum are a bit more likely to draw a crowd than Sydney, so I don't expect that everyone will be able to buy tickets wherever they want and move around like you could there.

You'll be allocated a nice little spot right next to the South End boys.

I don't envy you that privilage...they're MVFC's drunken Pom supporter group

Hope you enjoy having your sexual orientation and the validity of your parents marriage called into question every 11 seconds!!

As the game will be played at the Telstra Dome I doubt that they will have allocated seating arrangements......I have been there before for sporting events, I think that you are able to move around....the stadium does hold 56,347.....I just checked the ticketmaster site.......the ticket prices have gone up a fair bit since last season...reserved seating is between $41.60- $51.60...it doesnt seem to have prices for general admission which would enable to move at will.....I honestly doubt that it will be a sellout

Does anyone know how much the General Admission prices are for the Melbourne matches?

I like the idea of an away zone. It will make us feel special even if there's only 25

Actually more like AU$20.00

You will NOT need to buy a reserve seat for the Wellington game!

Any Melbournians out there know of a pub near the city that will have the Phoenix game on tele tomorrow? Not having Fox I have to hunt around, but I keep getting blindsided by AFL games and it looks like more of the same tomorrow.

I'm sure someone mentioned the Charles Dickens. Is that a purely soccer pub? Does any such thing exist? Otherwise it's back to the forum game thread, banging the refresh button every 5 seconds for updates. Somehow it just aint the same.

It might be a little late but the Charles Dickens Tavern(City)has a couple of teles & always plays sport on them....worth a shot for next time

Thanks Messiah. Actually I did try the Dickens but the barmaid didn't know how to change the channel and said I'd have to wait until the boss got back. 25 minutes gone, no boss, so off tearing round the city like a junkie chasing a fix.
Finally found  one pub with a tiny little tele in the corner showing the game in snowy black and white without sound, so I got to see the goals at least. Made a bit of an arse of myself jumping up and down when we scored near the end - I think the 50 glum Kangaroos supporters watching AFL on the big screen thought I was taking the mickey!

I will be ditching my Pay-TV at the end of this year, so I'll need somewhere to watch near the city as well. Problem is finding audio as well as pictures.

I used to have that problem all the time as well before I got pay tv....it can be hard trying to find somewhere......especially with sound....I used to go to the Dickens as they were quite good...it is always the way with barmaids not being able to change the channel there is also a couple of pubs in the Sth Melb Albert park area which always have sport on as well I cant remeber the names of them though
