Yellow Fever scarf

Over the past year or so that I have been watching Portland Timbers games, I have kept noticing the supporters group, the Timbers Army, have scarves with the TA name on them, rather than the name of the club. This got me thinking about doing the same thing here, having a Yellow Fever scarf to wear to the matches rather than wearing the generic design that FFA insists on using for all of the club scarves. I think the design of the current Phoenix scarf is awful, and we could do a whole lot better for a Fever scarf. I would much rather hold up a Yellow Fever scarf than my current Nix one.

There's a few websites that allow your to design your own football scarf, and customise the design, colours, and text of the scarf. They are quite expensive to get a single scarf made with, but if you bulk order the price comes down significantly, to about NZD$15 plus shipping. 

Basically what I am asking here is would anyone else be keen to buy a Yellow Fever scarf that we can design and organise ourselves?

So more merchandising dollars out of the hands of the club to be used by a few.

I hold up a Phoenix scarf no matter how bad it may be as thats the who im supporting.

I maybe wrong, but from what I understand it was thought about in season 1 or 2 and it was decided, that it was one route YF didn't want to take from the club in terms of merch. I could be wrong however.

Ah, I wasn't around in Season 1/2 so didn't have heard that discussion. If that is the case, then that's fine with me, it does explain why there aren't YF scarves already which was puzzling me.

We've considered it before but we want people giving the club the dimes to pay for a collection of attacking midfielders.

Speaking of which RYOS has a sale on most club/YF merchandise (and other sporting codes) going on (browsed the Queensgate store yesterday - no away shirts in my size unfortunately).

Hmmmm... how about my size? Feck... it's hopeless being over here!

Vaguely related to the topic.  Fruitless requests #541 and #542:

#541: Will there be children's stadium jackets (big, warm, puffy ones)?

#542: Not sure if the Adidas store on Lambton Quay has closed  - I'm guessing it has.  If we get those Adidas vouchers with the season passes again could we use them at RYOS?

I'd be keen for a YF scarf.

I can understand the sentiment to support the club with merch dollars, but the club is pretty stable now. People who'd buy the Yellow Fever scarf probably already have the official one already anyway.

I like the stripey scarf - wouldn't swap it for anything else.

I didnt even realise there were different scarves, thats how mucxh i pay attention to the games. think my one is season 1/2 cause its beautiful

Exciting. Hopefully it's yellow, since our playing strip has evolved into being mostly yellow.

The season 1/2 scarf is great, the 3/4 scarf is okay and the 5 scarf is just rubbish.

It will be black 'cos the players designed it.

Can someone describe the different scarves to me?

* It's stripey (black and yellow)

** It's spotty/speckled (black and yellow)

*** It's quite gash

New one is sexy.  Much more like V1 than v2 or v3.

The little tassles at the ends could be made to look like tentacles, with an octopus head woven in.....

Have you been paying any attention whatsoever? There are about 10 per season

 I am waiting to see the new gear.

 I do like the sound of the new scarf from a description I was given. I have original scarf, and the second scarf, avoided the third one. The original is much better for photos and viewing on TV because the lettering is much clearer.

 Need a new shirt and beanie too.
