Folks,

Thought we should let people know that Fever Scholarship winner Marco Rojas injured an ankle playing on Saturday.  He was due to be here this week to train with the Phoenix but it has had to be delayed.

We'll let you know what the changed plans are.

Cheers
Fever.

Would have thought pre season would have been better because then the pressure isn't as big in terms of working as a unit

We should be able to work something out.  Phoenix being very supportive.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

They'll need it if they play every game like they did against High.

Oh well, a rolled ankle should settle reasonably quickly. I'm sure he'll enjoy his time with the Nix, whenever that might be. Who knows he might end up as our Marquee!

All,

Just a big thanks to the Phoenix, our sponsors (particularly the YHA) and all the Fever for helping us bring Marco Rojas down this week.  Everyone buying t-shirts, getting in on any of our initiatives or supporting our sponsors are what helps make these things happen.

Marco had a great week and opened some eyes among the Phoenix fans and players as anyone who was at the game on Wednesday night will tell you.  I imagine he's a name we'll be hearing more of in the future.

Thanks folks !

Soley, enlighten us!!

Would be great to see him pick up a spot as a youth contract player. From all accounts he is a very gifted technical player, and we need quality wingers in NZ football.

Is he ready.... comments Hard News.... you seem to be a pillar of knowledge and in the know

I know Rojas is not confirmed yet but what ever happens this was an exercise well worth while!
I hope all the YF scouts are keeping their eyes peeled for next season's Scholarship candidates too.Good stuff.
next step: Rojas for the AW's..

definitely agree on that front. And I'd be very happy should he sign. Especially because he is already so gifted and this guy could really be nurtured and he'll fill a youth spot for 3/4 years! and thats definitely going to benefit him.

Im just scared that there are too many similar players in the squad.
