Yellow Fevers Relationship With The Club

It seems since TP left we havnt had the input from the club we used to have in the forums. Is it because they dont rate us or would they prefer that a fan forum was conducted elsewhere. It used to be great when he would pop up on the forums squash some rumor or just put us straight on some point or another.

Any chance that anyone from the inner clique can work on maybe getting someone from the club back on our side. Would be great if the club showed some interest in what is supposedly one of their best assets.

Um the club are own YF's side. Clearly it's a different style to TP, and I think that is fine.  Think it is difficult to keep up a presence in here as someone would need to scroll through the pages, and once you start answering the odd question, then I think you tend to get a million of insignificant questions.

Appears the club want to engage with fans through in person forums.

Yeah and they're doing a good job of holding fan forums etc. been quite impressed by it actually.

Is it fair to say however that the overall relationship has gone down hill since terry and tony p left?

In what way?

I'd call it about even. New owners, new things to angst about. Some are still the same, the Nix were going on the road before welnix took over, ticketek still sucked.

Just a vibe.  I could be wrong but others here (you would probably be one of the better qualified), could probably confirm or deny

Can't speak for other, but I've found Domey to be very approachable and willing to chat and answer questions.

And for every dumb thing that Morgan says, there is another owner helping us behind the scenes without wanting recognition.

The club is also on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram now. That's quite a bit of presence to maintain, and I think they do struggle sometimes just to keep that lot up to date. To be honest, with the amount of shit that gets talked in here I think they are better off staying out of it. The only thing that might work is if there was one dedicated, highly moderated, thread for announcements, questions and answers etc. Even then I could see it going pear-shaped pretty quick.

You are probably right but saying that that I don't think anyone here ever slagged off tony did they? I don't know if the club is doing it but a bit of marketing for this website wouldn't go amiss

I remember when the club had PDF posters for us to download and stick up at work and around the neighbourhood (kids ask your caregivers first).

By 'eck that was a proper club back then.

We are working on something exactly along these lines, I can't say too much about it other than that though sorry.

Cool, looking forward to seeing it. Can only help the profile of the club. Maybe if we are getting more mainstream fans we will need tougher mods ;)

Hey.

Currently sitting in a coffee meeting with Thundersticks and I can assure you all that our relationship with the club is fine and dandy.

Tony P was a special case - he loves social media and is a "personality" in his own right. You can see his influence in Sydney FC's social presence now.

But, Thundersticks is great value, and so is her boss Thunderdome.

Some stuff that we're currently working on with them (sorry if some of it's a bit cryptic):

  • Joint "bring a friend to the Fever" day promo.
  • Fever 101.
  • Napier away trip.

They are really engaged with trying to grow the Zone, and supportive of everything we're trying to do to do that.

If anyone has any ideas on that front, put them here because I'm keen to hear them: http://forums.yellowfever.co.nz/categories/wellington-phoenix-discussion/topics/fever-zone-2013-14-how-to-grow-the-zone

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Very prompt answers to questions being posted on Twitter this morning also (mostly about season tickets). Good stuff.

How does she feel about being referred to as Thundersticks out of interest?

According to a couple that were at the fan focus group, she knows about it and laughed it off.
