Strictly speaking I suspect it is probably against league rules to fly any national flag at an A-League match.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Ye Costa in the team so thts all good support for him. Victory do it. Ye nah ur not allowed to do it in the stadium in actual games however i thnk it shld be sweet at basin. K make some Phoenix flags then. I saw who evers involved in phoenix in marketing or somesht should ask for companys to donate money in which flags can be purchsed with with the companies sponsor on the bottom so we can use them!! Huge boost for players, looks good for phoenix and advertises a company throughout australasia on tv! Perfecto cuppucinio!

It is against A-league rules to have foreign flags at A-league games (I'm unsure if that includes pre-season cup games aswell), you can bring the NZ, Australian, or any Australian States flag, but not any other flag (e.g. Greece, Croatia etc). I assume this is partly due to some race-related football riot that happened in Australia a few years ago.

Also, there's nothing fascist about it, they are just trying to keep people safe. I think it probably helps the image of football in Australia if their are no race-related fights at A-league matches (however, a couple on the pitch wouldn't go amiss).

Ye it is cheers neway. Umm ye as dougy said sofa arent allowed in cricket unfortunetely but fk ye this is football 90 mins long. No need for sofas. Im looking forward to this game. We all gotta be together and  chant our ass off. Surely televised???? Few greek flags here and there.

Put your energy into getting some Phoenix flags/banners Pavlos. Greek flags are irrelevant and aren't going to help the team

Hey murrrraaa theyl add a bit of flavour. Its like eating spaghetti without cheese on it. The mince might be the nz flags and dominate the spaghetti however its those little pieces of cheese (greek flags) that add the flavour!! pavlos82007-06-12 21:19:55

my mate in ausy told me those "riots" were
50 people fighting in a different league which had 8 teams and all of them were 80% one racail/ethnic minority, so footy starved and bored people went to supprt their country and they stupidly put the "greek" team against the "turkish" team and the "serbian" team against the "croation" team - this is asking for trouble.

this aside, it is bulsh*t that you cant take national (outside nz and oz) flag to a game, if we did, would we get fined????- they did this with state flags in Greece for the ausy v greece friendly, which austrailia paid to win to boost support for the wc06 i might add

being a wog i dont mind the greek flag at the games but if there are no Greeks in the team then its a bit of overkill, the brazialian flag would be good for the brazilian players etc but overall i think phoenix banners and flags will be more powerfulWPFC_OR_DEATH2007-06-13 00:55:24

As an aside to creating race wars, Yellow Fever members get down the CAMBRIDGE before the game! We will get the atmosphere going then trot the hundred metres to the game. Drink specials (and you can buy YF t-shirts there)

You need to ease up on the study and get outside for some fresh air.

All u guys can freeze ur balls off in the RA Vance stand, il be on the Bank either getting some good sun and close to the action (and having an alcoholic beverage) or, taking the wind and potentially life threatening conditions full on. im willing to take the punt.

As for the Season, come october right thru to Jan, Wellington has the potential to turn on a cracker when needed! then again it turns to custard sometimes too!

i agree withthe bank as its closer to the pitch

with the positioning of the goals at the basin, the northern most part of the bank is quite built up - a lot of real estate there - and just behind one of the goals. would be a good possy, mind u im easy, il be there no matter what

yea that would be more european of us behind the goal going nuts, im hoping for 500 of us to be in the YF spot i think thats do-able

yea i rekon too. it looks heaps better when a goal is scored and the crowd goes nuts behind the goal. its a better look on sports news when that happens rather than seeing the goals to an empty behind of goal region

will we be allowed to take in drums etc, add to the flavour????

well there were many arguments about the use of drums its 50/50 with yf people, some like em some hate em, i would support taking a few drums but we have to careful not to let them take over.
