YF Southern Chapter Life Flight Fundraiser

Hi everyone, we've decided locally to do a fundraiser for Life Flight Trust which as I'm sure you all know Tim and Siggy are Ambassadors for. For those that don't know, The Life Flight Trust are the charity operators of a nationwide Air Ambulance service and the Wellington based Westpac Rescue Helicopter. They are an awesome cause indeed and I really hope that each and every one of you will consider putting in a few dollars (or more) towards the cause.

Every $10 you donate gives you a chance to win a Nix strip kindly provided by Tim Brown and signed by the team during their successful road trip to Dunedin!!! (What's the score Theo, what's the score? )

The campaign page can be found at: http://bit.ly/southnix

Each Life Flight mission costs $2500 to run so if we can get to $2500 then we would literally save a life! Please tell your friends and family and colleagues about this too so we can help out a very worthy organisation.
Cheers

No worries mate
When my two kids were in the neonatal ward at Wellington hospital ,I saw at first hand what these people do to save the lives of the premature babies by flying them in from distant parts of NZ to the neonate ward, amazing  stuff !!

In fact, Life Flight posted this on f/b about 15 minutes ago ..

The baby we are picking up is now just over 2 hrs old. The wee girl weighs about 800 grams and is about the length of a 600ml drink bottle. She has a tube down her throat and several IV lines. Her grandparents are watching the proceedings while her dad is off comforting mum. Shortly she and dad will both be on their 1st helicopter ride ever.

OP has been updated - Tim just got in touch to say that the Nix are going to supply a signed 2011/12 playing strip to give away!!!

I've raised the bar to $1500 and if/when we get there someone will take this beautiful stripey away!!!!

I think the prize should go to the first person to make a $25 donation, but then again, I may be a bit biased on that count!

Whoever wins the prize should get 20 minutes on the park !

(not during the game silly)

After an amazing kickstart by a few very generous Feverites this baby has hit a growth stunt. Your help in spreading the word among your friends (and making a generous contribution of whatever you can afford) would really be appreciated. We salute you

Well done you Mr J.R. - you can't give more than you can afford and that's $25 well appreciated by the Life Flight Team.

Good to see one of the LFT ambassadors in scoring action last night! That goal alone was worth my (humble) donation!

Worth noting that the last 2 goals for the Nix have been scored by Life Flight Trust Ambassadors! All 2 of them!

Cheers to whoever "Norm" is for $50 and getting this over $600!

Tim Brown told me today he's impressed with what's come in so far - but he urges you to donate if you haven't already and let's get well over $1000!

Timmy and Siggy's goals are surely worth at least $10 combine if not $10 each!

I went to Life Flight yesterday and they really do amazing work. They really appreciate all the support that everyone has given them!!

$279 raised for Life Flight Trust tonight!!!

Thanks to I-i-iffy and Mrs I-i-iffy for making the Santa Hats and kindly donating the proceeds to Life Flight!!  They have also donated the cost of materials as well as the time towards the cause so EVERY DOLLAR that was paid for the Santa Hats is going to Life Flight!

Cheers also to Junior82 for $20.

That's a grand total of $1732 so far!!!

If we can raise $768 more then Yellow Fever will literally "save a life" as this would pay for a rescue mission from the awesome team at Life Flight Air Ambulance!

Hi everyone. I was trying to kick start this again in the new year to try and push for the $2500 target but plans to do this went on hold due to the Black Out charity auction and not wanting to divert attention away from it.

I tried to raise further interest in this in the past week or so but it hasn't really gained any traction so this is essentially a "last call" to anyone that still wants to make a donation to life flight (or another one), that I will be closing it off soon and getting someone to do the draw for the signed Nix strip.

Thanks for everyone's support!

I keep having delusions that a wealthy benefactor will come in an push the total up to the target $2500 or even at least the psychological $2000, and yesterday a few trickled in to make it over $1800. Depending on how today goes I'll keep pushing for that last 2 hundy or just bail depending on how likely it looks.

Yesterday we got a couple of high profile Nix supporters to push the message out there and I was hoping to catch a few bites. It's on a knife edge at this stage

Good work Ahmad, will try to add a bit to your $1.8k.  Are you coming up to Wellington for the CCM game?  We need more people like you hyping up the game.

Hey thanks that's awesome. I will be contributing what I can to top up the fund but working my hardest to hit that $2000. If anyone doesn't have a credit card I'm happy to take funds via Internet Banking and put it in on your behalf and get you in the draw.

And just like that over $2100!!! Wow!

Thanks to everyone for your generous support! You all know who you are! Give yourselves a pat on the back! The awesome heroes at Life Flight Air Ambulance offer their sincere thanks!

With the total reaching in excess of $2000 tonight let's hope for some good karma as the Nix take on the Irony!

I will arrange for some independent people to perform a draw (likely tomorrow), and will make the announcement sometime after that. Any suggestions on a good time to make the announcement?
