Brockie to break his duck against Melbourne B's shambolic defence and tighter than expected game over night.

my 3-0 victory bet paying $20 was looking good until brockie fucked it up for me.

Put $10.00 on at half time - nix to win - at half time i think it was paying 35.00 - made the last half worth watching but no $350 payout.

Victory paying $3.30 to beat Sydney. After last rounds performances from those two sides, those are amazing odds.

Over a year since the Victory last won away, and Sydney won't play the high defensive line like we did. But yeah it does look tempting.

So what's our current leader? Is it $14.20?

I don't have a FriendFace so not sure about there, but on the forums that is the highest return so far.

What about Western Sydney guy? If that was legit didn't he get a few?

Permalink Permalink

He got $600 dollars out of it, but the amount won doesn't matter for the comp, just the odds. He won at $10, the multi in the lead right now is $14.20.

Sorry to spoil the party but these $1 multis thrown in are a big yawn.  May as well take 20 $1 multi combos of all permutations with barely enough to take the lead.  Where are the punters with balls.

Permalink Permalink

Actually there are 243 combinations, and that only if you pick a result in all 5 games. If you pic multis with less games, there's many more combinations!

Wasn't gonna shove this up, but since Ryder top scored for Welly tonight, I'll be watching tonights game with a bit more interest.

Blame the organisers. The winning ticket is the one with the biggest return per dollar

No point spending/losing $10 or $20 on a ticket that gets you $40 if the winning is based on a dollar basis.

I agree with it. You could bet $1000 on a $1.10 result and win $100. The impressive thing is beating the odds, and picking something at a high return (I.e is unlikely to happen).

Could potentially have put a minimum bet amount, but that would be more of a money making move, rather than one to make the competition more exciting

Also, are there any laws against encouraging irresponsible gambling the same way there are against encouraging irresponsible drinking?

I just think there may be a better way to run the comp not sure what it would be though.  There are too many people outlaying lazy 1$s.  No real risk for a large return.

Great idea for a comp though.
