Well done to all in the YF zone tonight - a fantastic night's entertainment. OK, it wasn't one of the great games but the atmosphere was brilliant for such a small bunch of fans. We copped a few bottles from the riff raff upstairs, which instantly saw a fair sized police presence flood down among us, presumably to bravely throw their bodies in front of any other missiles. But as we all know from the papers football is a hooligans' sport, so we knew the risks.

My wife, who has never been to a football match, had the time of her life and even though she's a born and bred Aussie she was screaming and yelling for the Phoenix. In fact it was a bit odd hearing her bellowing "We are Southern!" and "Melbourne takes it up the a*se, doo dah, doo dah!" Sometimes I think I don't know her at all....

Oh, and I loved the Five Amigos and the guy taunting Archie for being too small!

yeah, saw the cops in the YF zone on sky; pleased they were there to 'protect and serve' rather than give u a hard time; and weird seeing the Amigos in big floppy hats  - is that the new YF fashion statement?

Was about to post that photo (as I took it). I think it was little out of hand that you guys four policeman looking after you. Good to see a turnout from you guys. I hope you will can take up some more space for the game in January.

While we're at it, maybe we could replace the drummers with a mariachi band?

Great effort from the yellow fever supporters in melbourne at the game on saturday night, im sure the boys appreciated it. All started well when we got a police escort to the game from young and jacksons, they dropped us door to door couldn't believe it! Then we took over the southern end, that went down a treat. Would have been 40ish vocal supporters who gave as good as we got from the victory fans, few classic chants came out "wheres your southern wheres your southern wheres your southern end" soon followed by "wheres your captain" highlight was the phoenix subs giving the bring back bertos banner the big thumbs up, someone suggested it should hav said give back bertos as perth wouldnt let him go at the start of the season. Lia's strike was class and went down a treat, was suprising how many aussies supporting phoenix were sitting with us, bumped into O'Dors cousins and a few other distant relatives all good for the nix. We got a good reception at a few pubs after the game, few too many beers and don't remember much after that, word with the victory supporters was they want merrick gone! Cheers to Ginger_eeijt for liasing with local bobbys before the game and for the flags. Congrats to Terry who become the supporter to attend most away games this year - lucky bastard. You lads coming over for the january 11th game will have a ball over here will be worth the money - id say if the team keeps improving as we are you'll be in for something special!
If anyone found a bone carving at the front of the southern end stand where we were can you pm me, too many beers and too much jumping when we scored and i lost it somehwere!!!
