if this club is asuccess gets the money the fans etcetc and lasts longer than 2 years do u think they will open up a youth facility where scouts go to 15-17 year old games and put them in the development? worth a shot if u ave the money

I would rather see the A-League making a youth comp for every team in the next 5years or so, doesnt matter if the teams are sh*te or not. I also think we need another league like in england.

Eg; EPL >> Championship. So teams get relegated and makes the league more exciting and so on. This wont happen for maybe a decade if not more but i think it should be in the plans for sure.

Theres no doubt the A-league will expand, and i defenatly see the room for youth development. I mean football is always about young prospects balanced out with Veterans, so look to see major steps in both deparments, ie, second Division and Youth development.

There will be lots of opportunities for youth development...especially when clubs ave become more finacially stable and growing they will ave room for a reserve squad and a reserve league.

Not in the forseeable future will there be a second division and/or youth league

I would like to see a development squad playing pre games.  but this may not happen for a few year. i know the A league have been looking at this. also there need to be an outlet for the reserve to get game time and push for places in the first team.

it would be nice to see a youth league/div 2 however its almost certain that there will be an expansion of the A-League (Nrth Qld, 2nd teams in Sydney & Melbourne maybe Tassie etc) before that happens...

that doesnt mean that the Phoenix couldnt set up a youth side. im not sure what the wellington regional football structure is like, but im sure they could set up an U/19 side to play in the city's competition and use it as their youth development squad, maybe future phoeniae (is that the plural?)

Yep, their all pretty damn obvious. Currently their are 8 teams in the competition. Only 2 are making a profit right now, so why introduce more expenses that would not bring in a major income (unless you hit the jackpot and sell someone for $10 mil to Chelsea).

8 teams, not the highest quality. More teams = dilute quality. So to mantain the standard, which isnt too high already, you have to do it very gradually, otherwise you get a duplicate of the NZFC where 10 people turn up a game. (myself included)

So, withtin the next 20 years their might be a decent sized league, then after another 10 or so maybe introduce reserves and youth, because right now they cost too much to run.

The more sensible idea would be to enter them into a local league (like the AIS do)

Yeah when I first got into the A-League I was expecting a lower quality EPL with reserves and everything, but realistically thats a long long way off, you have to allow time for the development of footy in aus and NZ

i rekon the a leagues managers would probably be wanting a womans youth and reserves league as well as two extra clubs in the next 15 years

Nah i dont think they want it either...With the success the A leagues had already i dont think Australia wants anymore chances at failing, theyve already made a greatly succesfull league, why take focus off one and split it into two. One great league, or 2 average ones...
