kinda shows the gap between the WNSL and Aleague. Great to se her scoring 3 but the first two would have been stopped by any aleague keeper. Defense looks almonst non-existant in the first two, the third is a very nice goal.

Queenslander 3x a year.

Before Whinham, who was the last Kiwi, man or woman, to score a hat-trick in the NPL? The last one I can remember was Ott when he was playing for St Albans Saints.

In 2023 Kelli Brown scored 30 goals in 31 games for Macarthur Rams for the NPL NSW. Probably the odd hat trick in there.

Seth Clark scored a double a few weeks back for Sydney Olympic. He's hopefully not far off an ALM gig somewhere. Could have Aus Citizenship in the next 12 mths

Good on her, goals are the main thing missing from her game at the moment, so hopefully this NPL stint will give her the confidence to take more shots and work on her shooting technique before the next A-League season starts as we need more players to be able to chip in with goals

scoring fun this year in the NPL NSW. Scores a brace over night in a 4-2 win for Sydney Olympic.

The guy that originally posted she was in Sydney reckons it was a second hatty.

If she keeps this up, a big club may come calling and we'll get a transfer fee 🙏

Maybe Whinham can report back to Chiefy on how Seth Clark & Zac Zoricich, are going with the Olympic men’s team.

Great to see her scoring goals - always had the ability to beat a player, but lacked 'conviction' in her shooting.

Maybe she's worked a little on her power, and perhaps is getting to play a little more advanced as well. Good to see regardless.

“Maybe she's worked a little on her power, and perhaps is getting to play a little more advanced as well”

Or maybe the level of the NPL is flattering to an A league player?
From what I saw most of those shots would be comfortable for any decent keeper

She's in Bali with Lake, Longo, Maine, Barry etc.

It might be in the too hard basket, but what the Nix should be doing if they really want to quickly progress the level of young promising female players - get them playing for 3-4 months in Japan during the ALW off season.

Presumably the top 2 female leagues in Nippon, run calendar year (ie mostly summer) like J1 & J2 mens. You only have to watch Japanese U20 & U17 female teams at World Cups, to surmise the level plus technical skills there are very high.

The NSW Womens NPL will yes be better than Central League, but have doubts it will be improving Whinham's game much.

Broke her scoring drought in a 2-1 loss on Saturday.

7 goals in 8 games now (7 starts).
