Looks like we are picking up a few niggles.
Hope we can hold FC to a couple of goals before we get 9 days off to recover before Melbourne City

Oh dear, 3-0 down inside 30 minutes.
Sydney getting in too easy through their right wing.

By the end of the game they done much better.
Chloe Knott in the midfield is way more productive than up front, she should be there permanently as she definately isn't a winger/striker.

I have never ever seen the strategy of having the centre backs retreat into the six yard box when an attacking winger has got round your fullback. They did this all the first half. Abandoned that strategy in second half, so it must have been deliberate. The results speak for themselves.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Sydney by far the better team and deserved there win. Certainly a lot of strange calls from the ref, that seemed to frustrate us. Early on we let it get to us and lost composure and shape. Have to be better than that.
Second half was better tho. Kramer with her experience was good. Taylor solid.
Why didn't we have more subs on the bench. Is everyone else injured ?. Same as last week, thought we needed fresh legs but had no one left to sub on. We are allowed 5 subs so why not use them !! Martin should be getting game time. Or is she injured?
Some of our girls not really adjusting to this level yet. I hope they are at least taking the learnings on offer and we can be more competitive against the likes of Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane.

Martin is out injured, as is Grace Jale - five subs were on the bench and four were used (the reserve goalie was the only unused sub):
Wellington Phoenix: 1. Lily ALFELD (gk) (c), 2. Saskia VOSPER, 3. Kate TAYLOR, 4. Mackenzie BARRY, 6. Isabel GOMEZ (16. Hannah JONES – 78th), 7. Chloe KNOTT, 8. Grace WISNEWSKI, 9. Ava PRITCHARD (13. Te Reremoana WALKER – 63rd), 11. Kelli BROWN (5. Jordan JASNOS – 46th), 15. Zoe MCMEEKEN (17. Talitha KRAMER – 46th), 20. Alyssa WHINHAM
Unused substitutes: 12. Brianna EDWARDS (gk)
