I see Brown is starting for ressies in Auckland today so unlikely to be starting tomorrow
Yeh, I see also Robertson & McMeekan as well as Brown & Brazendale all played for the reserves in a 2-2 against Western Springs. That narrows down the match day squad.
Just in case anyone missed it, because I nearly did, you won't be able to use your membership to attend tomorrow. It won't scan. Instead, you should have been sent a code that entitles you to a free ticket in Silver/Family/Yellow Fever sections.

Thats Womens membership cards that wont scan pretty sure the other ones with your seat and row number on it will

Ah, yup. It wasn't overly clear in the email, but I also only have a Women's membership.
Is it a one-off for this game, or will we need to redeem tickets for every match at Sky Stadium?
On paper and in experience. Mel C look alot stronger than our starting XI. Tough game first out with alot of players making there A league debut. Not expecting a win. But hope for a strong performance and a platform to build from. A few goals would be a bonus. Surprised to see Wisnewski on the bench. Should bring some impact later in the game.

Looks a very narrow setup from the get go in this one. A tactic to give them the wide spaces and have them try whip it in in the swirling wind perhaps?
Good sound coming through on the tele as well, but crowd looks a wee bit sparse to start with.
Yes chanting but not many watching - maybe added for effect 🤣YoungHeartHM

Good luck this arvo ladies! 🔥🦅
2000-2500 in attendance perhaps?
Impressed with our start to be fair - We look to be more of a threat going forward, and there is actually a coordinated press in play when we're out of possession. Still early days of course, but lots to like so far. Temple's has handprints all over this set up, and I'm liking what I'm seeing.

Close game, although City with a bit more technical skill and keeping possession much better. Nix passing has been poor in our own half at times, looking a bit rusty in parts, so are City a bit though. Defending has been decent and Rylee Foster looks solid in goal (hopefully she can keep relatively injury free this season).
Been pleased with Knott so far, Davidson looks quality and assured, able to set up an attack, and loving the creativity of Manaia Elliot. Macey Fraser in midfield has struggled a bit with decision making, been a bit disappointed with Hope Breslin as well who is less involved than Elliot and Main.
Great to see the intent, with the 1 & 2 touch passing. we are just lacking the composure a bit, some early season nerves out there no doubt. They are all over us with the press though. Wind is a bit of a factor by the looks. Speckmaier and Wisnewski will come in off the bench at some point.
Is it just me or does anybody else find Kirsty Yallop sleep inducing? Not knocking anything she is saying, just the way she speaks, monotonous and devoid of excitement.
yeah, but surely fitness shouldn’t be an issue. Minimum levels of fitness expectations at the beginning of preseason. I thought Davidson was too standoffish and Breslin didn’t offer too much. Not much between her and Main for me. I was impressed with Elliot and Knott and Barry as always. I guess the team will get better the longer they are together, and very pleased that us, the supporters expectations are now that we don’t expect to get pumped and we have high levels that we aim for. Our passing accuracy needs to improve and when we get into the box we need to take shots- Elliot, Fraser and Breslin should back themselves to shoot more. The players will be disappointed that we didn’t get a point today. Encouraging stuff though.YoungHeartHM

We look to be tiring already.? Breslin, Davidson, Taylor, Fraser not able to keep the energy up
Yep, but given the length of the pre season that was always going to be the case wasn't it?

The main thing that stood out for me was the intensity. Maybe it was just fitness, but there were a number of times where it felt like they just didn't chase down when needed. There were a few loose balls at both ends that could have turned into something, promising or dangerous.
Agree that some of the team should have backed themselves to take the shot.
Agree a good entertaining game. Phoenix look much stronger than in recent seasons. Bit unlucky not to extract a point here. Also agree the attackers need to back themselves more to hit the target.
Both team struggled with the wind it was never going to make for attractive football so i don't think we can judge too much based on the conditions alone.
- our #6 is our best player she looks very good. - the front 3 did ok with limited service. - Taylor is not a holding mid! shes not going to last long there. - van de meer marks players too tight and gets rolled every single time. - not sold on the goal keeper.
overall hard to see a style just yet but in good conditions we will likely be better. Cant believe WILKINSON scored ffs.
