Huge test for the team, Sydney have been under performing but still have a ton of quality.

Looks like she'll travel with the team, interestingly – I suppose we can take that as a positive sign overall.

At the very least it provides Bri Edwards with another chance to prove herself. Probably the best no.2 keeper in the league and feel bad for her having to sit out after Rylee came in (and has been excellent in all fairness).

They might be staying over there awhile. Think their next 4 games are all in Oztraylia.

You're bang on - next 4 games are as follows:
29 Dec - Sydney (A)
7 Jan - Brisbane (A)
12 Jan - Central Coast (H) but in Sydney for Unite Round
20 Jan - Melbourne City (A)

Next home game isn't until Jan 28 against Canberra!

It’s a shame to lose Foster, hope she’s ok.  But I’m also an Edwards fan, I think she’ll do a serviceable job against a tough team.

Edwards is cool. I like to watch her, there is something about here.

I like the shape, playing some very good stuff although it hasn't come off yet.
The ones I don't like in this setup are Breslin, and then Davidson, who really should have done better several times.
Main looks strong and more in it when she is central  .
I hope it comes good

True, Sydney are a good outfit. I'd like to see us pay more attention to those simple distribution passes in midfield because turning the ball over leaves us vulnerable, eg the clearance off the line came from Barry passing straight to their player under no pressure.

Pretty shabby half from us to be honest. Lucky Sydney have showed shocking decision making in the final third.

Need to create much more in the second half though - don't know if we can get far off limited counterattacks which is most of what we've had so far.

Ref is just letting everything go! I think there were a few good fouls given out by either that were ignored.

Ref is letting everything go... fair for both sides, but she has missed some clear fouls.

I think Sydney have been very good, certainly in terms of stopping us playing.  They are man to man marking and it's working for them.
But we are defending well enough, and if we manage to work out what they are doing, and play better passes when it counts, we can win this.

Agree, I think we've been pretty good overall against a difficult opponent. Vine is literally the difference at the moment. Really classy, dangerous player.

Do think that despite some good flowing passing movements we've been quite ponderous in the front third. Couple of times we've got the ball wide quickly but there is literally no one in the box for the cross. Maybe we are aware of Sydney's ability to break and it's stifling our attacks a bit.

Great game from Lake and Barry so far. Short ball is great but just need s little more composure some times in the front third. Expect we will see Cox on soon. Hope fully Hawksby runs out of gas and is subbed being her first game back. She has been excellent for them.

I think the team will be pretty disappointed with the quality of passing atm. Lots going a stray.

Speckmaier's a passenger out there today. Doesn't seem to be any real intention to try and put her in behind the Sydney defence.
