I'm quite bullish about our prospects this season now.

I'd be even more bullish if we still had Vilao. And course if Fraser was playing.

I wouldn't be getting too carried away just yet after beating the bottom placed team.
Brisbane will be a sterner test for these girls and how they handle the away games.
I really hope we can push on from the last two wins.
They are a fun side to watch. Playing with high intensity and there willingness to move the ball forward and attack with pace.

Agree I think Brisbane will be a really good test. Though we performed well against Melbourne City, one moment can cost us.  We need to be on our game 100%.

Just arrived in Brisbane on the same flight as the Roar women returning home from CCM, so I got to introduce myself as a Phoenix supporter to a couple of them and throw in a cheeky “see you on Saturday.”

No idea who I was talking to but that got a smile out of them.

Fun fact: Brisbane is home to a Nepalese Peace Pagoda, one of only three outside Nepal. I wonder if Samba will bring her team-mates here if they get any time for sightseeing?

The double header is approaching a sell out. Wonder how many of they tickets have been sold to the Nepalese community to watch the ALW after the ALM match.

Google say is about 3K-4K Nepalese in Brissy. So for sure will be a turnout to support Samba.

They have their own little Brisbane Nepal Festival in April and remember eating some yummy food there, a few years back.

Does anyone reckon we'll see Macey Fraser at all this season?

I’m still hoping she’ll make a return but think she will have to fight for a spot with the new recruits in midfield.

I'm not so sure we will.
She signed a three year contract. So main thing is she comes back when she is ready to contribute fully and not feel pressure to rush it. No reason that can't happen. as per Wisnewski before her.
Imagine even once she does return to training it will take a while to get back up to speed and would make sense to ease her back in slowly. So I'm not holding my breath for an imminent return.
If this new visa signing is any good (that's if they ever get round to actually announcing who they have signed) and the way Vlok is playing, she will be under heavy competition to get her spot back in the starting XI even when she does return. Which is healthy.

Looks like Bott is still recovering from that knee knock she took.

Will be a big out for us if she is not available.

Looking forward to this game more than the blokes

A repeat of the WSW performance would be most welcome! (Or even better the Sydney one, but three points is three points.)

Hopefully the Samba supporters at that game had such a good time they’ve told all their mates in Queensland, and we get another strong pro-Nix turnout from the Nepalese community.

Saw a few with Nepal shirts in the men’s game. So hopefully a few more rock up!

Canberra dropped points to WSW, so a big chance to close the gap on them.

That free kick was a joke.
But that hit for the goal was something!

That linesman has twice called us offside incorrectly - just glad we didn't manage to score either time or that would've been gutting

This sideline ref will prevent Brisbane from scoring in the second half with her offside calls. Feeling confident we can get this in the 2nd half by scoring 2

We should be level at least with the chances we have had .

Our keeper perhaps could have done better.

Some sloppy passing and turnovers are costing us

Yep, several occasions of not having the shooting boots on.

And not much you can do about a hit like that. Two brilliant goals in this game. The second might be the best I’ve seen in the A league. It was still traveling when it hit net.

Feel like we are really missing Bott in that midfield today. Pijnenburg has big boots to fill there.
Hope we can come back into this one. Away days still proving difficult.
