Sun 25th?

Yeah, I recycled an old thread title and forgot to change the 3 to a 5. My bad.

Adelaide are playing tonight in Newcastle.
They are in pretty good form at the moment with there forwards firing. Unbeaten in four.
Not expecting Barry to be ready for this one. Hope Jaber is up for some game time, though she will be rusty.
If both Bott and Barry are out. That's 6 starters in total from pre season out for this one with injuries.

Adelaide beat the Jets away 2-1.  They're unbeaten in 5 games now.  This is going to be a stern test.  Maybe it's the rainy day but I'm not feeling at all confident.

Adelaide jump us on the table and are now have 2 points more than us.
With the table so tight feels like every game is a 6 pointer.
Am less confident of a win if Barry is out and Bott still unavailable.
Maybe they will go to a back 4 ?

Leon is probably our nominal RB, but for my sanity she will need to tamper her flair in the defensive and middle thirds somewhat.

Mac Barry named in the squad.
Mac Anthony could named pending visa approval.

What is the current status of Tiana Jaber.
Good question.
This is from the Canberra match report that I posted in the Canberra match thread:

From Phil Rollo's match report:

"The Phoenix will be sweating on the fitness of Barry ahead of their next match, at home against Adelaide United next Sunday afternoon. Barry has started every game alongside Ellie Walker and Marisa van der Meer this season but
Tiana Jaber is due back from a broken leg and looms as a ready-made replacement. Adelaide are ninth but have won three of their last four games and toppled Melbourne Victory 2-1 on Saturday. "

Macey Fraser doesn't appear on the Unavailable List, I'm sure she used to?

She certainly was on the list.  Not sure who writes these lists up.  Tiana has dropped off completely.

Another one I feel has dropped of is Olivia Ingham? I know she had her injury (ACL right?) But she has been back for a while now hasn't she?

Fallen down the pecking order due to the imports and other promising youngsters like Vlok,Benson, Jerez, Grace Bartlett and Lily Brazendale.  I suspect she has some work to do to get in front of those.

Win and we go second on the table. With only one more women's a league game this weekend.
Lose and we are third from bottom....

Our record against Adelaide isn't good.  Need everyone to have a good game to shut them out.

No Main.
I hope we keep Nunn wide.

Subs look like Elliott, Anthony,  Brazendale, Benson, Bartleft

Good to see Mac Barry starting! Thought we might not see her until next week from the way it sounded during the week

Phew. That was sloppy. Barry was just close enough otherwise that's a red.

Mack A may be decent, but feel like Pijnenburg has not shown enough and maybe using that spot (especially knowing that CJ's time would be limited) might have been better for a midfielder.

Along with the back 3, Nunn and Jale have been the most consistent.

She's worth her weight in gold for this team. Lovely cool finish.

Yes, but she's been shown a little bit of poor game awareness and decision making, and not shown real grit in midfield.

Got to stay focused, Adelaide looking like they could pull one back at any moment, off any mistake.

Their passing game is really impressive but they do look vulnerable when we get some time and room in midfield. We need to exploit those opportunities for the through ball as much as possible and put this game to bed.
