Must be a Phoenix thing to not take some of the many chances created. So frustrating to see both teams do it.
Also whats with the lack of urgency at the end mucking around with taking a throw in then throwing it short and wasting it,then with time running down Esson pisses around instead of just getting rid of it. Okay may not have come to anything but just dont get the lack of urgency when they really wanted a win from that game.
The throw that we took at the end, it looked as though Walker asked Bev if she should take it short rather than throw it long. So it seemed like a team instruction during extra time to slow it down, which seems crazy as we're pretty consistent with late goals. Bev must have seen something that made her felt like we were going to get overrun trying to push for a second.

I agree to a point. I don't think she's the finished article. She's notching,which is great, but she really could be winning more games for us id say.

She's miles and miles better than that Ferguson we had last year though!@

Woods herself, to an extent?

“I’m super gritty,” Woods said. “Everyone in American soccer is strong, fast and athletic so you’ve got to get down, get dirty and do the hard things.

“That’s the type of player I am. Some people might be better skilled, but no one is going to work harder than me.”


Based on what we’ve seen that’s a pretty accurate self-assessment, and I’d say she’s exactly the player we need to complement the rest of the team.

If she's bagging a goal a game which she is most of the time, I can deal with a few big touches or poor decisions. Having someone with that strikers instinct and end product is fantastic. We don't need her to be the most technical player when she's supported by Leon and Brooke Nunn.

Remember last season - we had a lot of good technical players but they often lacked end product.

I disagree - but either way do her silky skills (or lack thereof) really matter if she has 4 goals and 5 assists in 7 games?

so you want her play style to look good and ahve her scoring goals?
she wouldnt be in the aleague if she was that polished.
Which would you prefer, a styled player with great technique but scored 2 golas in 5 games with no assists or Woods current 4 in 5 and 7 assists.

Doesnt matter how you score or win at the end of the game, the 3 points is all the matters

Jale is indispensable in our midfield, a silly challenge in the box though.
I would love to see Jale get a bit more forward to have a few shots on goal from outside the box. She has a great shot when she connects fully.
