Happy with this selection, hopefully Alyssa recovers well soon. We have the firepower to score goals. Hopefully they watched a replay of the goals they scored against Canberra prior to this game to remind themselves that they can score buckets of goals. Fingers crossed we have some luck go our way today.

Van der meer has always looked the only one likely to get on the end of a corner.
The delivery from Robertson and Satchell is nothing short of atrocious.

Rolston looks like she's got a mad fudgeing attitude, doesn't seam like a great person to be in a team with.

Yipe gives off bad body language. Too much arms gesticulating. Then when she does get a touch, or shot away it's invariably awful.
I know the plan is to bang it up the flanks to Roberston & Satchell, but Rolston is just a complete passenger. Offers absolutely nothing. I'd be disappointed if she got a 2nd season at the club.

I'm loving your optimism, but to me we have no firepower at all.
Robertson and Satchell have created nothing, Hassett has barely got into the game, and the few times Rolston has touched it have been woeful. To be fair,if I was Rolston, I think id be a bit peeved at a complete lack of service.

We are going very long and very direct. Would like to see more build up in the centre of the pitch.

Great goal, proper good finish there, well done!
Rolston shushing the crowd was just cringe though, you didn't bloody score it.

Not as bad as Rufers being 3-1 down though lol

That’s been the difference all season. Having a bit more quality up front and taking chances.

I know it has been stated before, but what is missing is few imports to be the difference makers. We are at the quality of most other sides for 70-80% of matches. But we are missing something in the last 20%, something that other clubs get around by having a few extras brought in.
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

What a joke. Blew two leads and lost against the other worst team, displaying appalling game management. Missed an absolute litany of good chances throughout the game, and now heading straight towards back-to-back wooden spoons.
Been really positive over the last month or so, where they have played some good footy but not quite had the results desired (apart from a couple). But that was just shameful... shows that we are still where we deserve to be on the table.

Agree. There are 12 players in the ALW with 5 goals or more. 7 of them are imports. Must a good international striker out there, happy to try a Wgtn summer. Someone for likes of Clegg to learn off. Van der Meer a defender is the Nix's top scorer with 3 goals (27th equal for the league)
EC is the future, but at 17 she still has a long way too go. Often just muscled off the ball today, which I guess ain't that surprising. Big moment was Hassett through on goal and shooting wide.

Laawrence has said as much, mentioned a week or so ago that next season we would need to look for an import striker - a female Zawada. Unfortunltely that would come at the expense of an NZ spot as the ckub needs to have a certain number of Aussies on the books each season.

There are less Aussies in the ALW squad, than there are in the ALM squad. Plus the ALM team has 5 visa spots.
1-2 visa players in the ALW squad will hardly hinder NZ female player development. Plus there will now be a Nix 2nd team in the Women's National League, so strengthening the pro women's pathway.

As somebody else posted we bypassed our midfield all game long. Straight from Taylor to Robertson or Satchell 70% of the game. Ours mids did so much running up and down the pitch trying to keep up with the play. Hassett is our best player why don’t we give her the fricking ball!!! Then we might see what Rolston can do with some decent service! I think Rolstons aggression is what we need. If she had played as many minutes as Pritchard has this season she would have scored more goals. She was off side frustratingly, but still a great finish to put that ball past the keeper in the second half. Hassett should have done better with that chance in the second half, and before their 2nd goal we had 2-3 chances to clear but didn’t and then fairly sure Barry was fouled by their player in the build up to their goal. A few games Lawrence and Callum assistant coach have been on the edge of the field encouraging the team and pushing them on which seemed to have a positive effect, was notice how much their coach was so vocal with their team especially the last 20-30minutes. Clegg has great quality in her shooting. Must be close to 80% of her shots or crosses are on target so the keeper has to at least save it. Our crossing and shooting from outside the box wasn’t good enough today. A disappointing result from a game that was winnable. Still, two more games to go where we can get points. You do have to wonder if that referee and the 4th official were from Newcastle, that was bloody biased reffing today.

We lost it when Foster was subbed off. I understand why... on a yellow, nearly got another one, but Cicco stood way off her attacker, Van der Meer got skinned down the left wing and Jets scored the winner.
I agree with the above. Not playing to Hassett's feet enough was such a waste of our best player. Knott did well in the midfield. Pleased for Satchell to finally score. Robertson wasn't in best form today. Rolston spent most of her energy complaining to the ref it seemed, though she did do one superb pass through to someone.

Maybe a surprise in the next game with this lineup?
Clegg
Robertson Rolston Satchell
Hassett Taylor
Foster VanDeMeer Barry Cicco
Edwards
Would be good to see Candy get a half or 20mins in goal too like Edwards did last season. And maybe McMeeken and Walker too so we can see how they have developed in the last year.
