this one is gonna be tough, can only really hope for a better performance form the team and stealing maybe a draw?

Definitely underdogs for this game. Hope to see a bounce back after last week. Lots of learnings had I'm sure.
Team will be well tested over next three games as after this we play Newcastle again and then Sydney again.

This the issue is also Kelli Brown, she over rated player

Don't know if it's simply because of the heat but this is not so exciting to watch. Lacks spark from either team.

Why are the commentators amazed that a player warmed up with headphones on???

no idea, I would have thought it wasnt that uncommon.
think the women are doing ok, given the build up etc. But there are some glaring issues right now, we are very hesitant to get to the ball, our defence is really slow and I'm not 100% sold on Alfield as a keeper, he positioning is poor and bar one or two decent saves she doesnt look confident at all.

she's coming back from injury and got hurt early on - bit harsh to say she's overrated.

She hardly was a show in woman's league for WaiBop, yes coming back from injury, very inconsistent player and frustration gets the better of her

There were some improvements to the phoenix game for some players which was a  real positive, Whinham needs to come off scholarship and be paid the same as other players, she has certainly stepped up and ready

Our passing is piss poor, we work hard to win the ball then gift it back way too easily.
Will continue to struggle if we don't learn how to hit simple passes to feet.

Good to see the women fighting to the end. Some strong challenges.

The girls gave plenty of fight, but the step up in level is really showing for some of the younger ones. Can see them struggling with option taking and doing the simple things. I'm sure the heat was a factor though. And as was expected of this very young team.
Gomez for me PoM and Kramer did well when she came. Wisneski looks like she is growing each game. I'm surprised that Martin isn't starting with her experience at this level.
Next 2 games we have Newcastle and Sydney again. So will be a good gauge to see if this team can make some progress over that period.

Anyone know the successful passing percentage?

Is that to our own players or the stat of our passes to Sydney players?? Come on girls, the basics. You have shown heart, effort and commitment. You know you can do better. Relax and let the football flow. Enjoy this first season. I love seeing that your heads don't drop when losing and that is a good thing.

It's great to be able to watch these double features/fixtures.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Around the 70 minute mark it was 60's, Sydney in the low 80's (the one time I recall them showing it on the screen). so yeah, not great.
