Is there a pub within walking distance of JCS?

You have the metro sports bar opposite the station 😂 or there is abandoned brewery but that’s probably a wee bit far of a walk. Could use the river walk.

In an email on Sunday, phoenix promised transport from porirua station to the stadium.

Unfortunately, there are no trains running to porirua,so it will be bus replacements!

Google Maps says its a 27 min walk uphill ... no idea where that 10 min walk bit comes from?

It's a 9-10 min drive, given the complexity of all the roundabouts etc, if you start from the mall side, rather than the carpark side. From the car park side, where rail buses will drop you off, its closer to 25 mins walk. It's a gentle climb, not a steep one.

Some big ins for WU. In Beall, Vlajnic and Sawicki.

For us. I hope we see Brown on the bench this week. I'd like to see her getting some playing time.

Threats a plenty in WU.
Can see them targeting us down the flanks where we’ve looked stationary.

WU have tended to be a counter-attacking team, so think with the quality we have this year, we can probably take the game to them like we did against Brisbane.

No trains on Kapiti line on Sunday

Edwards or foster in goal? Both are good- what a nice problem to have!

JFC there better be a few people at the game. I had a nightmare only about 90 people showed up last night. Yikes.. surely not. This team deserves a bit of hype, WU are decent but I’m tipping the nix 4-2. Come on ladies.

So there are no trains running on the one train line to Porirua on Sunday due to maintenance.
Do Wellington not want a professional women’s football team FFS 🤦

I think Wellington wants working train infrastructure. Extremely dumb that it coincides with the game but works have gotta be done regardless.

But as it states “ allow extra time for commute”
It’s just a bloody shame  as it will stop quite a few

Just saw the Phoenix Reserves are playing at 2pm tomorrow at Fraser Park.
Why wouldn't they play it before the ladies at Porirua?

Foster or Edwards you reckon??

I think Edwards probably for 1 more week before Foster comes back into the starting XI.
For me.
                Edwards,
Davidson  Barry  VD Meer   Foster
    Longo   Taylor   Fraser
  Elliot   Speckmaier   Breslin
Bench. Foster, Main, Brown, Knott, Lake
(maybe a bit tough on Whinham?)

Main has had a run of games now, has been solid with-out really impacting. Where as she showed great impact off the bench last season.
Elliot gets the nod due to her goal contributions so far. But thought she dropped off a bit last game. All though young players will be a little up and down on performance. Would like to see Brown get some minutes as she is a proven goal scorer.
Longo probably only good for 45-60 minutes. But her and Fraser are our most technical midfielders so would start them both whenever possible. Breslin could also fill in there to allow another forward to come on later.

Hope there is a good crowd at Porirua Park to cheer them on.

Looks like a bloody good setting up there.

From an aesthetic point of view, I wonder if it's worth setting up scaffolding for the camera crew on the opposite side of the ground next time out in order to get more people in the frame?

I get it that we're not here watching for the crowd per se, but it would give greater visibility for the numbers in support.

Hopefully they sort out the beer issue for next time out as well, as per the previous post on that...

Should be 1-0 to Western. Good build up play by them. Nix defence all at sea on that one.
