Temple has to be planning these efforts where we defend pretty well for 75 mins before attacking for the last bit with fresh legs.
Great result.

Or Whinham with her chances, she doesn’t have the confidence in front of goal sadly. It seemed a bit chaotic when they made the changes at first. I didn’t understand why Mccutheon (sp?) was attacking mid and Longo was holding but Temple eventually figured it out. Also must have reminded Mcmeeken she is a wingback rather than a fullback. Good finish for a “win”-draw.

Unless there is an injury issue, it is hard to fathom why Tanaka didn’t start. Longo sets the energy bar very high which a few could learn from. And is Jale being moved around too much or something else going on with her? She seemed to be lost for much of the game.

Yes. Not just fresh legs coming on but some pretty good ones confidently going at a tired defence.  The whole shape of the side improved.  Two games in a row we have finished really well with subs on.
Be good if we could get close to that for 90mins. But you don't want to lose a game running out of legs and with weaker subs.

Sometimes in this kind of game your starters have to be workhouses and that sets the scene for the subs to come on fresh and make an impact. Certainly clear today - sub Main setting up sub Elliot for the equaliser.

We were perhaps a bit lucky in parts but honestly thought we shut down Victory well across the game, heck they couldn't even score from open play. Then you can hardly say they couldn't have seen it coming - multiple times we caught them napping with our press or on the counterattack while it was 1-0, then good chances to Main x2 and that low cross Ferguson couldn't get to. The crossing in the final 20 minutes was quality and put them under pressure, although we'd dealt with a lot of shots in the game we hung in there and Victory only have themselves to blame end of the day.

Not quite sure why we needed mcmeekin. We are losing

That’s why! Always adds energy

Sure, but it was Elliott who scored the goal, and who was sitting on the bench at that point!

I notice McCutcheon had the pre-assist too - she has been a great pickup and our best player so far this year!

I reckon this shows how close we were to having a good squad with depth and just having one more quality player makes all the difference. Kelly and Mac Cutcheon have been very good additions to the squad.

Good point away from home. That will give the team confidence. We were well structured and look like we are settling into a more cohesive unit.

Gotta be happy with a point away to one of the best teams in the comp!

Great header from Elliot - good to see the subs combining to make that goal. It's good to see the bench able to have such an impact on the game, feels like depth - only we need the starters to be able to create goals as well before we can actually call it depth.

Happy with the result, and if defending for 75 minutes before our subs make an impact is the way we can come away with a point or three in matches like this, then I'm all for it - but I'd love to see us put away some chances earlier in the match
