A couple extra days rest for the team before they head to Adelaide for the reverse fixture.

Interestingly despite Adelaide being joint top on points they've only scored 5 goals in 5 games. As we saw last week they definitely struggle to finish chances off. This may be wishful thinking but if we can manage to find a goal from somewhere we could pick up at least a point and potentially move off the bottom of the table. Fingers crossed.

As a result, a pair of Liberty A-League fixtures scheduled for next week have been postponed, with temperatures set to soar across both states – Adelaide United v Wellington Phoenix at Coopers Stadium on Tuesday December 27 and Western United v Newcastle Jets at City Vista Recreation Reserve on Wednesday December 28 have been called off.

Was something along the lines of the team not being good enough at the moment and oppo will eventually pick them off with a goal or three - until they get some new personnel essentially

Similar comments to what Rory Fallon said on the same show a few weeks back. Rory now being part of the youth coaching set up at the Nix academy.

“Similar comments to what Rory Fallon said on the same show a few weeks back. Rory now being part of the youth coaching set up at the Nix academy”

So does that mean Rory has a group of better young players that have somehow dodged the NZ age group system??

whatever

Maybe is a gem they can sign from the WWC February qualifying tourney (from minnow nation like PNG) or for next season from the WWC itself later in 2023.

Surely can find room for 1 overseas player. The 18 women squad seems skinny, with only 14-15 fit players at any one time, and only 3-4 outfield subs on the bench.

See from a RR tweet, that WSW have just signed a player from the Philippines.

Won't hugely improve the team but would add some interest.

Not sure that signing Indonesian and Philippine and other Asian minnow players will make the league better, but it may bring a small increase in TV rights and travel. Sounds like a Silverlake thing. They were looking to increase signings from the AFC.

Wait…this is women’s game or men’s? Hot day…

Adelaide coming off a 3-0 loss vs Sydney. Gotta win this to keep the door ajar for avoiding the spoon.

The pointy end needs a sort out.
Robertson and Satchell, for all their speed and endeavour, produce next to nothing. Robertson can't deliver from the left, so goodness knows why she starts before Clegg. Madness. Tbh, Clegg isn't a left sided player either, put her on the right. Maybe try Lancaster on the left  - at least she's capable of delivering a ball.
Don't know what other options we have to try.
Its a Hobsons Choice between Rolston and Pritchard it seems.

At least the back unit looks more solid. Taylor looks fitter and has improved significantly. Van der Meer has also improved well, although I'd prefer Barry in the middle.

Lol.
It's looks like they read my post above!
I certainly think this is the correct selection, we need to see how they do. I hope they go well. I'd like to see Walker and McMeeken get a good run to.

No Satchell or Robertson at all but I guess we have 3 games this week,so I think this is a good selection

A lot of very good play, but too many passes are not reaching their mark when it counts.

Pritchard again ultimately fluffs the chance when it comes.

Oh this is incredible, took a deflection but Clegg announcing herself after her Ferns call up announcement.

Originally missed her first goal but just watched it, a striker's finish right there.

Great result. A bit grim in the last 15, but enough good performances to see us through. Main looked very handy. Foster,Taylor and Barry as solid as rocks. Well done to Candy too. Wisnewski also very prominent.
A very enjoyable game.

Great result Nix women. Deserved win. Emma Main assist on debut. Clegg doing the business. Everyone contributed. All the subs that have had few chances did well. Wisnewski and Hassett worked their butts off and secured the win. Candy secure in goal. Makes for interesting last game lineup selections!

Clegg with 4 goals our top scorer for the season at age 17. Not a bad day for her! I think watching this game our squad players haven’t had enough of a run in the team. The passing was pretty rusty today and we didn’t account for the wind in the first half very well which is surprising. I thought the midfield 3 looked quite tired toward the end of the first half, but Walker did well when she came on, and Wisnewski with her assist and Hassett chasing the through ball at the very end shows they could dig deep. Hope the team all recover well. Candy did well in goal, especially for her first game. A couple of great saves and good distribution from her hands. I was impressed with Main tonight, based on this showing I would have her in the squad over Pritchard for the last game. She had 2 great chances in the box tonight but couldn’t capitalise on them. Maybe if she gets one she will kick in and score heaps. But she isn’t taking her chances. Lancaster wasn’t quite there tonight, the combination of her and Foster didn’t click, and she just had a couple of long range efforts. Foster had a good game, bursts of speed and skill where she made the difference and a laser that just went wide of the posts.
