David Chote was great on the radio this morning about it. Lets remember, there is well over a million people up there and not all would have been at the chritmas in the park or Raggamuffin. Really Aucklands die hard football fans could have done better. The weather wasn't that bad. The occassional light drizzle was actually warm not cold like our southerly. it was nice to not have gotten scoreched facing the sun. Shame our sing was wasted on open air but this happens.
So Dave, are you going to hold true to your threats and stop taking the circus to town and concentrate on building the fan base here in Wellington witho4ut threats of moving us elsewhere? I hope so.
That's pretty Shark of you to blame die hard football fans for not coming, they would have been part of the 11k that was there, just bear that in mind when blaming people for not turning up.
I'm sorry i didnt know there was only 11k playing football in Auckland these days. To be fair though, ithought thrre were. Few more than that inqthat stand.
o for awsome, that is a great post and quite level headed. Deloras, it is not intend as Dorkland bashing but football attendees bashing, especially with the recent rumours of a 3rd attempt at getting a franchise there. They cant rely on just the gates a derby against Wellington to see them home. Although, having one would be massive from my own point of view. I am not happy with the club tactic of thinley vailed threats. It wins no friends and has beenus3d down here so often, either stand up with it orshut up Phoenix owners. You should be encouraging, not threatening.
