Was talking with my friend about this last night. It's so strange and incredibly creepy.
I don't get it.

Caltex. The wankers say 10 cents per litre everytime time Black Caps play in this tournament. What they are not advertising that they are sneeking, and that is exactly what it is, sneeking, their prices up.

Right now you are only getting 6 cents per litre, not 10 because of their increases. Did they not think people would notice? I think it is fraud myself.

You can add politicians for that too as they steal approximately 65% in tax off the Oil Companies.

It makes you think that in reality, we should be currently be paying about $1.20 per litre. The oil companies base their pricing on "What they think the price per barrel "might be" in 3 months time." Apparently we have stocks for three months in reserve.

All this outrage about some nobodies being mean on a TV karaoke show. Firstly, it's a "reality" show so this is all probably a media stunt anyway. Secondly, even if this isn't a stunt, this is just what these shows do. If you decide to enter one of these competitions you're opening yourself up to the judges saying mean things to you. Simon Cowell anyone?

Not saying the judges are in the right, but the reactions of the media and a large section of the public seem way out of proportion to the incident in question.

Soooooooooo much this point. Talentless shows, cooking shows and home rebuild shows, batchelor shows and Survivor/ freak you out shows. Can't TV companies treat us as if we have an IQ over 75 for once please?

Thank God for Discovery, CI & National Geo channels.

I used to enjoy Amazing Race, until it basically became the same as the other shows (About Season 5 :p)

Was cool to see different places in the world and people compete there, but other than that UGH.

PS. Not sure Discovery, Nat Geo & History are much better now, what with "Alaskan Bush people" "It was Aliens" etc, I still watch shows on these channels, but it used to be 2-3 a night recorded, now it's lucky to be 2-3 a Week.

There is a lot of sharkhouse tv out there but there's also some real quality dramas on the likes of SoHo, usually from HBO originally. For instance, I'm watching the latest series of the Americans at the moment and that is smart, well-acted, well-produced entertainment. It's just the mainstream network cop shows, silly reality talent quests, and interchangeable sitcoms which dominate primetime on the free to air networks that suck.

Have you noticed that usually around tee time you get Judith Dobson telling us about incontinence, athletes foot and other fungal shark or some period related stuff. Now I appreciate this might be useful information but they make ones medium rare Steak and Mushroom sauce dinner so much less appealing.

Only reality show I can watch is The Great British Bake-off... and I couldn't tell you why, I'm not into baking, and don't pine for cakes and croissants but there is something in that shows formula that makes me want to watch it.

Flavor of Love was a great reality show because it was so ridiculous. That's my personal favourite from the genre. I don't mind the ones that are so stupid they become comedic. It's the ones that take themselves really seriously which annoy me

Can't it be an AND instead of an OR?

Seriously though, doesn't anyone else have this issue? Is my keel oversized? Is the pendulum too big for this Grandfather clock? The mind boggles.

I once found a 'stretchy' rope in the old mans garage when I was about 15 - it was like a thick, long bungy cord and naturally my first though was "I wonder how far down the driveway it will stretch if I tie it to the roofrack of the Toyota Corolla". We'll, I got about 35m down a pretty long driveway when the knot I had tied to the roofrack lost all integrity. In slow motion the thick heavy cord came untied from the roofrack and then snaked at the speed of sound down the driveway only to contract as it did and hit me flush in the coin purse. I did two breathless, whimpering laps around the house, ran inside and curled up into a ball on the lounge floor where I stayed for about 30 minutes. Worst car related injury so far.

BBC's handling of the Jeremy Clarkson situation.

I am not trying to defend Clarksons actions here because punching someone is not really a great way to deal with a problem, but am concerned that there only seems to be one side of the story out in the open at the moment.

All we know is that there was an altercation between Clarkson and a producer of the show. What we dont know is to what degree the producer was involved. For all we know he may have started the whole drama and may not be quite as innocent as we are being led to believe.

I am not going to pass judgement on this until we hear the truth. Two sides to every coin and all that!

THIS!

Reading around, it sounds like he (Clarkson) actually brought it up with his bosses as was better to honest than not.

The other guy doesn't want to talk, he doesn't want to press charges whatever.

But the way it has been handled is horrible. Whether he is in the wrong or not, their handling has been pretty horrid.
