Except it's Wellington. Summer? Last year it was on Wednesday.
Statistically the sunniest of the main centres etc
Wellington is more sunny than Auckland, true, but that doesn't count for much with the wind. Before I moved to JAFAland, I never knew it could be warm on a cloudy day.
When I was studying at vic someone did a PHD by doing a study that showed that the the wind is actually properly stimulating, and that it lead to happier and smarter people. Of course statistics can prove anything
It's pretty shetlered at mine though, we are just in a high wind zone which is about as low as you can get in Wellington. I used to live in an extreme windzone which was sort of medium.

That study was sponsored by Watties, with extra funding from Heinz. Wellington City Council did not contribute.

As a school teacher, I find wind drives kids mental. So I'm not sure about happier and smarter!

The wind changes kids!
This was clearly a typo. Surely it was meant to say "The wind cries Merrick".
Wrong Thread.

.... harsh! Hendrix is never off topic.
So if this fudge up isn't resolved, all our players are free to be approached as of 1 January, 2016?

I sure hope we have some indication which way this is all going to go before then (good or bad), I don't know if I can cope with even one more week of this - although I suppose I'm going to need too!
Im not sure if this is the right thread or not.. but can we snap up that Lea'alafa kid ASAP! He looks like a replica of Krishna.. but perhaps even faster!! Merricks looking for a goal scorer well this kid may be the answer!! 4 goals in 2 games for Auckland so far this season :)

Yes because our experiment with Benji Totori went so well... :)
He does look like the best ASB Premiership prospect this season.
Any others worth keeping an eye out for? Te Atawhai Hudson-Wihongi? Sapreet Singh?
Interested to see how Atkin Kaua goes for Canterbury United. Was the best player at the national secondary school championship this year and scored 10 goals in his debut Mainland season, which is a great return for a school boy midfielder.
Singh is already signed to the nix.
On a full contract?
Can we sign Tuiloma on an injury replacement contract for Vincenzo Lia please?
Also, sign Themi while we're at it.

I get the feeling the club has not really stopped looking from the day that Burns announced he's leaving.
Would not be surprised to see Sarpong leave either. Wish we had kept King Kenny.
He has effectively put Sarpong on notice, or it has to be an AU or Kiwi signing.
It will be interesting next year with A-Rod and Riera off contract. I think we should keep both but when you consider Krishna, Sarpong and Roly have another year, I can unfortunately see A-Rod being released for another striker.
For what its worth, I would keep A-Rod and he looked better as a box to box last night.
Any idea who's on the market? We got lucky that Newcastle had sacked all their good players and we could get Joel, any striker that is better than what we've got is going to be under contract.
I hate to be that guy but we've lost both Siggy and Durante this season and we haven't actually looked bad with Muscat at CB - I guess he's a tad quicker? So maybe use the Jan transfer window to bolster our CB stocks.
Do we only have one squad spot left?

A-Rod is only 22 and looks to be getting better. Would definitely keep him on.
From memory I think Riera has another year left after this, but will mostly likely be an Kiwi by the start of next season - freeing up another import spot.

I'm hoping for A Rod for AWs midfield for 2022 WC qual. #development
Surely the 'Nix could have a word with the immigration minister and speed up Krishna's citizenship (waive residency visa requirement, he joined Waitak 7 odd years ago) same for Riera.

That is the most common sense I read here all week.
Just do a quick deed poll name change to "Roy Van Dyke". Surely what's possible for netball is possible for us.
it's my understanding that Immigration have a special category for sports people.
Immigration and Citizenship have nothing to do with it. It is what is in FIFA's statutes that counts

IIRC, not in regards to the HAL. Just have to be naturalised citizens, doesn't matter on FIFA eligibility.

Correct. We are not asking Roy to play for the AWs, only to stop being counted as a visa player with The Nix.
While Roy can't play for the AWs, Albert Riera potentially might as he has never represented Spain. So maybe this is a useful strategy to adopt with the Immigration to push his naturalisation faster if he is likely to represent New Zealand (the "Van Dyke clause"), rather than just being employed by a private business (Welnix) like Roy, which does not accelerate naturalisation.

Auckland-based football coaches?
Huge shortage I think.
If you consider how well Ramon has done with Auckland City, I am curious that Adelaide City (who are clearly only employing Spanish coaches) have not yet made him an offer.
Or maybe they did, and he said "this lot won't make it to the Club World Championship Finals".
ACFC probably pay more as well.

Back to transfers.
Like I said before, get Djite. Works very hard in a sharkhouse side, never drops his head and never gives up....
I reckon we could talk him into it without too much effort, and I think he would be the perfect link in our front line.
whoever it is must be able to walk into the team..and continue past scoring form.
