The Hyundai A-League Scholarship program allows clubs to sign up to six players from its Foxtel National Youth League roster on senior contracts.

Guess Aussie teams can sign 6 NYL players now

We have Sail & Rogerson outside the cap on those deals. I guess it would apply to us as well but would need the other SS Prem clubs to agree to it.

Previously the NYL contracts were at minimum A-League wages (41k) but these new ones start out at 28k for u16 year olds from what I gather.

Former Chelsea, Real Madrid and AC Milan midfielder Michael Essien will join Melbourne Victory for the 2016-17 season, according to reports.

Essien, 33, is currently a free agent after leaving Panathinaikos earlier this year and the Herald Sun reports he is set to join Victory as their guest marquee.

Sounds like a few teams are sniffing around Danny Choi from Blacktown City, waiting for him to get his Aussie passport. Adelaide have been linked to him in the last few days, possibly as an injury replacement for Carrusca.

They need some quality reinforcements, he should be a great pick up for them. Also been rumours about them chasing Burns (along with plenty of WSW rumours).

SST reckons James Holland will sign a deal with Adelaide but with an out clause, allowing him to go to the MLS in January.

And the move is off, on SST Monday night they were saying 2 agents were claiming to represent him in Aussie & that was causing issues.

Sydney FC have promoted PS4 NPL 2 NSW Men’s Championship winners Bai Antoniou and Charles Lokolingoy to one year scholarships for the Hyundai A-League 2016/17 season.

The scholarship program is available to players under 20 years of age and will see the players integrate with the Hyundai A-League squad as official members.

I think the 'scholarships' replace the NYL contracts.

Guess this is a sign they don't have much faith in FBK's legs. On paper it looks a good signing, even tho he hasnt played much first team football in the last couple seasons.

Sydney FC might be about to experience a downside to their perfect start to the A-League season after a European club made an approach to sign their coach, Graham Arnold.

The Sky Blues have put the league on notice with eight wins in eight games in all competitions this season, scoring 22 goals without conceding a goal. However Arnold's success has drawn the attention from Dutch club NAC Breda, where he spent three seasons as a player.
