That was the original Wimbledon FC ("the Crazy Gang"), but yes.

Akifenwa gives interview like a pro wrestler or Muhammad Ali. :D
Just come across this story, it is pretty cool to follow. That YouTube video with John Green was great.
Booyaa! PROMOTION!
AFC Wimbledon = definitely my 2nd favourite team in England
Pretty awesome how 13 years on from being gifted a spot in the Football League, MK Dons are in the same league as the club who had to start at the bottom of the pyramid.

I love that guy

They've never tried to pull a Franchise stunt on any other struggling Football League club, so perhaps this whole mess was the way that the FA had to learn its lesson.
It was what it was... very hard to sustain a Prem Club on the crowds at Plough Lane.. great food stall and you were part of the club/team..
Love that Wimbledon are wearing Admiral shirts.. but this is the one i really liked...
Dover Athletic with a 4-3 win over Wimbledon AFC this morning. 1-0 to DAFC at half time and then things kind of...opened up...
C'mon you whites!!!!
A day to rejoice, as Wimbledon pass MK Dons in the league for the first ever time.
This should please every proper football fan immensely. Fudge MK Dons the stupid fudgeing franchise wankers.

Pointed this out but I was living and working in a pub in Wimbledon Village when this all went down, the local were fuming and it's all that was talked about in the pubs. 'Tis a great day to see this happen and well deserved.
they were my local football team when I lived in London
No, the real Wimbledon were your local team in London, the MacDonalds version were or are the fakes.
hand me down from my uncle
GLORY!!!

Nik Tzanev becomes the new Kiwi Womble to follow in Smeltzy's footsteps.
Good on the lad. He will find their fans very passionate and loyal. Great support for their Keepers going way back to Dickie Guy.
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Good job. AFC are the "real" Wimbledon, FA Cup holders in the past.
Getting a bit tight, but still in the correct order
The real Wimbledon. Hate the MacDONald franchise dons.
IT'S OFFICIAL! Real Dons staying up - Franchise going down :D
I think biggest punishment for MK Dons fans, is they most probably all live in Milton Keynes.
Dreadful place.

Love this.
Fudge MK Dons. Franchise wankers.
Win over Bury means they finished 2 points behind 16/17 total. Should win that game, Bury had a Awful season(lost to Woking(who got relegated to NLS) in the FA cup.)
Haha lets all laugh at MK Dons
Hope they go bust, would be karma perfected
Fixtures just released D.

Who are Scodhorpe United? :D
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scodhorpe_problem
We should refer to them as "that team Ian Botham played for"

Yeah that was back in like 1984 or 85 wasn't it. As a kid I was a nerdy programme collector and I went out of my way to get a Scodhorpe programme with Ian playing in the team. If only I was as devoted to my school work...
AFCW saved from relegation with a goalless draw on the last day of the season.
The bad news is, Franchise are coming back up
Saved by 3 goals. 6 points for AFC next season pleased.
How is the new stadium coming along? Worked on it to get it to planning but not seen much in the press since?
Always thought it was a shame Kingstonian were the ones to get shafted in that deal.
Word has it that ground will be broken on New Plough Lane this month. Apparently they had to make some last-minute changes to the design, but it will be ready for the season after next.
Kingstonian were not shafted IMHO. After their previous owners sold their ground to AFCW, the Wombles left them stay there virtually for free for 15 years - and paid them a million quid as a going away present. I honestly think some of the Kingstonian fans are showing entitlement (and no-one seems to talk about Chelsea Ladies getting this great new ground).

Think the K's have every right to feel aggrieved to be honest. Yes, the previous owners were cods, but it was their ground. The deal with Chelsea Ladies suits AFCW alone, not the K's. They then had to play in the sharkehole that is Leatherhead, and now latterly Tolworth. The fans have been shafted well a truly. Poor form from AFCW imo.
Interesting re: the creche and cafe. Remember having to draw those up a few years back and wondered how the hell you could do it. Had some cool ideas (such as using the concourse which is technically external anyway) to provide the external space. They've let Galliard homes get away with one here.
Here's a K's supporter who puts the blame squarely on Kingstonian themselves, for not doing jack in the 15 years they were renting to find a new ground, or even to keep Kingsmeadow in good nick. It's truly amazing that AFCW let them live there for almost nothing for 15 years, gave them a million quid as a going away present, and still manage to end up the bad guys - but that's what efficient PR will do for you.

Thanks for sharing that Doloras, some things I definitely didn't know in amongst that. K's fan base was always blighted by Chelsea fans, not the most intelligent of folk. Just a shame, I enjoyed the times I went to Kingsmeadow to watch the K's (handful of occasions). Tidy wee ground. Shame people can be so short sighted, albeit I could I understand their concern re: where they were going to play.
