Just wondering about Buzzer MacKay. Excellent player, well liked and appreciated, but by the time the 1985 World Cup qualifiers came around he was still playing but nowhere near the national team setup. Most others were either still there or had retired, but what happened to Buzzer?
All Whites History
Hello all, 3 new clips today from 1997 - 2 from a tournament early in the year in Australia, and then the first leg of the WCQ playoff vs Socceroos... enjoy (kind of...):
IMO one of the worst All Whites teams I've ever seen which is quite something when you consider that it contained Rufer, McGarry and Hay. Some of the others were pure gobsh1te.

After Gisborne City in 82, he moved to Manurewa and helped them to win the National League in 1983, played his last game for NZ in 84, think he ritered after that and took up coaching. Still lives around Manurewa area and I think is coaching a school team (although that was a couple of years ago so not sure if he still is)

Retired from the All Whites? He was still playing national league in the late 80s, which is why I was wondering whether he retired from the national team or just fell off Fallon's radar while others stayed on it
North Harbour pitch 1997 remarkably similar to North Harbour pitch 2017

Yes, the All Whites but after Manurewa, he played a season for Mt Roskill but then I don't know (The NZ Soccer Annuals stopped in 1988)
I don't remember Buzzer playing NL from 89 onwards. There's a few from the 82 sqaud who were lost too early, for various reasons, ie Boath, G Turner, McClure

Anybody know where Boath and McClure are now ? I remember the days when Billy McClure played for Mt Wellington.
Morning all, was sent a request to repost this - anniversary of this game today, and the person wanted to see Ceri Evans's tackle on Aurelio Vidmar again (it's at about the 10 minute mark in this clip - enjoy!):
Only a yellow for that? jesus
there was no card for the guy who headbutted Ridenton...

Both should have been red, although the tackle was a disgrace compared to the headbutt. I was at that game. Pretty one sided.

I'm pretty sure Billy still lives somewhere in Auckland.
Allan Boath's story is a whole lot stranger though. Apparently he kind of went into hiding after football, and has never participated in any of the reunions for the 82 squad. I get the feeling he wasn't a universally popular member of the squad.

Buzzer joined Eden just after '82 when I was there. He even played a couple of games for Central United's reserves (in the Northern League) circa 2003. Top bloke, Stranglers fan.

think he's coaching kids in Manurewa somewhere these days (at a school not the club)

The Goose should have stopped the first one. Near post? He was better than that.

I heard the same. Interesting that he was so frequently appointed captain. I always liked him as a player
Morning all, 2 more clips added, this time from 1998 - friendlies against 2 teams who had qualified for France 98. Nice kit too :)
Have now uploaded all the footage I currently have from the 1990s - playlist created, relive some memories and enjoy :)

And if anyone has any footage (old VHS or whatever) for any games from the 90s I don't have on here, please feel free to drop me a line :)
Thanks for a Saturday morning spent on this nostalgia trip
So you know when the crowd at a home game makes it seem like an away game...
When the team you've supported for ages finally has some success, there are three types of experiences:
- good days
- really good days
- days like this one :)
Build up to Confeds 03 started with this trip to the Baltic - some good stuff in here, result should've been better:
I was at that game, awesome trip went to the game in Poland after that
were you in that shot of the Kiwi contingent?! they looked frozen...

No I was just beside them just off Camera, think it was about 2-3C there were about 50 of us there - mostly kiwis that were based in London, there were only 7 of us when we played in Poland 4 days later!

One of the most, if not the most, under-rated All Whites off the last 25 or so years.
Another build up match for Confeds 03:

He was pretty good for Fulham too. Took all their set pieces. The injury really stuffed him
Morning all, bit of a random post - suddenly got a YouTube notification our of the blue today that this clip may get blocked due to copyright - so figured I'd make the most of it while I still can:
Evening all - when the AWs went to Tynecastle in 2003...
With Mossy's visit to Wellington on Sunday, thought it might be worth revisiting one of his more infamous All Whites moments... this match wasn't broadcast in NZ, so this may be new viewing for many... enjoy :)
Milts, just so you know, I regularly pop in to your you tube channel and watch your videos. My favourite all whites side is the 1985 side, probably because I was at an impressionable age at the time, but in hindsight I also wonder if they could have been close to the 1982 side in terms of how good they were. It's really awesome watching coverage of the 1985 qualifying games.
Do you also have coverage of domestic games?

The best night ever! I can just remember feeling utterly exhausted, drained afterwards, there was so much energy poured out from the crowd into that game.
Evening all, revisiting a match I was lucky enough to be at (and the top night that followed) - oh so close to a pleasing result...
Hard to believe it was 13 years ago...
