Interesting how his name is spelt on the shirt. More in line with how commentators here pronounced it.
Good luck to the lad. Still reckon if he was arriving now with year's coach he would have become one of our best ever imports. We never saw his true ability.
I'd say that has more to do with the Azerbaijani language not having a Č in their language.
There is no Č in Paracki's surname.
Okay, I'll correct this. They've spelled it phonetically. No, he does not have a Č in his name, my bad. Though the regular 'C' in Croatian is a 'ts' sound, and because the Azerbaijani language does not have an equivalent letter to this, they have spelled it as they would say it. It's common in those Eastern languages to do this. I know in Greece they either have the English name or have a phonetic version based on our alphabet. So for the surname 'Banana' (yes, this player exists), they either have that spelling or Μπανανα (Mpanana), as 'mp' together makes a 'b' sound.
From wikipedia:
"The letter Цц, intended for the sound [ts] in loanwords, was used in Azerbaijani Cyrillic until 1951. In Azerbaijani, the sound [ts] generally becomes [s]".
