Be a laugh if Brosque scored the winning pen to sign off with. On the pitch he's a cod, off it, you couldn't meet a more humble nicer guy and I say that as one of his bigger detractors. I couldn't help but like him.

Subbed off. Currently just starting the second half of extra time, 0-0

Has been one of the worst/most boring A-league games I've watched in a while; a shame considering it's the grand final. Glad you have found it interesting following on here though!

Death Strikes!

Awful, awful game to watch though, zero fluidity, niggly fouls and stoppages, lots of players slipping and misjudging passes, just lacking general quality overall.

Whelp... that happened.

Some might say justice for the first half VAR decision.

Granted, for the purist it wasn't an attractive game but I didn't find it boring. I enjoyed watching two totally committed teams running themselves into the ground. Sydney worthy winners too I reckon. Came with a solid gameplan and held their nerve in front of a massive away crowd.

Shades of Ricky's f-bomb post-WC playoff win against Bahrain. Fudge me, was that really 9 years ago....?

Worst GF in the history of the A-League - flat, slow, uninspiring.

Just get rid of these finals series. The team with the most points at the end

of the season has already won it. And that was Perth, losers Sydnet got lucky

on penalties.

When the trophy was presented the stadium was empty lol.

The sooner this GF is forgotten the better.

I agree. What is the Aussie fixation for finals playoffs, just like the NRL. Perhaps if they had a league with 16 teams they could all play each other twice (H&A) a season. The champions being the champs and you could have the next 4 teams play another H&A series to determine who plays in the Champions League with them, if there has to be "finals".  Or have no play offs and incorporate the twiddly Dumb Cup to be played during the A League season rather than some like a preseason tournament it current feels like.

I hope they do this when the league gets bigger to be honest. But it's such an Australian/American thing to do, I don't think they'll get rid of it anytime soon unfortunately.

It's a longshot to get rid of the whole 'finals series' but when it goes to 12 teams with Macarthur FC, it takes us to 12 teams - 33 matches which is getting up there with a good decent sized league season, could even split the top 6 and bottom 6 and get an extra 5 matches out of it too, take it to 38 - For example; Scotland. However it becomes a bit of a pointless exercise when we don't have a promotion/relegation setup. Probably not got the fan base or sponsor appetite for that long of an A-League season too, especially with the encroachment of NRL and AFL seasons as well as the perpetuity of rugby union on the sporting calendars. I wish we had a European type culture around how footballing leagues were played out!

Getting off topic anyway so congratulations Sydney FC. Wonder if it was just me, but even the celebrations seemed very low key, maybe it's just me! Goodnight.

Counter point- it keeps the end of the season interesting. Fighting for 6th or fighting for a home final. And the knockouts are a cup like scenario
