Glad I didn't stay up to watch that dross. The way we defend it doesn't even matter whether we make the finals or not. It'll be an early exit as per usual.

How come we crumble everytime we play Sydney, Victory or City? UT has not got a good record in that department.

Also, getting a bit sick of watching headless chickens in defense. Need a few departures for next season. Some ppl are clearly out of their depth

All very well to hope that we get the 3 points  needed but Macarthur are still in the mix. If they and CCM win their two remaining games and we don't win one of ours then we will be out of the top play offs.
Anything can happen form here.
I've waited 14 plus years for us to be successful so I am not holding my breath.

CCM beating WUN wouldn't be the end of the world.

We definitely want Melb City to have ALM title locked up by beating Glory. That happens and I can 100% see City resting a heap of players for their games against Nix a few days later. They have had 4 ACL games in Thailand in 2 weeks. They will definitely rest guys if they can. So makes that game alot more winnable for Nix, if Maclaren & Co are spelled.

Given their very heavy schedule Melb City may even consider resting guys by having a top 2 spot locked up by beating Glory. Which is what will happen, as VUC won't be able to catch them, only WUN.

Final will have to be in Melbs, if City make it, so winning the league title loses some of it's importance. Winning the Grand Final is what folks remember.

WUN finish the season with 3 away games (CCM, Jets & Adelaide), over 9 days, so won't be easy to catch Melb City, even with a game in hand.

Mel City 46 pts (2 games left) - Glory (A), Nix (H)
VUC 45 pts (1 game) - Sydney FC (A)
WUN 44 pts (3 games) - CCM (A), Jets (A) & Adelaide (A)

But the in-form Victory eventually found a second, even if it took two tries, before Rojas added a third to extend their unbeaten run to 14 games and prevent the Phoenix from moving another step closer towards securing a top-six finish.

They remain fifth on 36 points but will drop to sixth if Central Coast Mariners beat Western United on Saturday.

I hope we don't stagger into the finals off the back of other teams' failures. True, it's been a really tough season but for the a finals spot to feel like a hard won achievement we need to dig deep and get some results in the last two games.

For a severely weakened side I don't think we were that bad last night but it shows you how little depth we have when the two subs who replaced an exhausted Old and Fenton literally made us worse, no disrespect intended to those young guys.

It's highly Nix will need at least one win from WSW or Melb City to make top 6. But given the hurdles they have faced this season, making finals would definitely feel like a hard won achievement no matter what.

We would have to hope Talay has targeted WSW as a not negotiable MUST WIN game. With David and Josuha having a little longer break hopefully they are ready to go and fingers crossed Hooper all the better for a   little run. Is really frustrating the number of times this season we have made very promising attacking moves only for it to break down because of the failure of the ball carrier to be aware of whats happening ahead of him and he just loses possession softly. Would also help greatly if we stopped leaking friggen goals.

Surely Laws and Elliot will be in contention too

I don't care how we get there, excepting, if we get there, it would be good to do so with Ball and Sotirio back fit, Hooper up to 60mins and Lewis up for a half. And Elliot if possible.

Then we are a chance to beat top 4 sides.

But if that's not the case and we're fortunate last qualifiers, still short of fit players, that's still just reward for a team that has done it hard for two years.
