Payne done it again

I really think he's gone backwards as a footballer over the last 12 months, similar to how Fenton went down hill.

Not sure if this is a valid excuse for Payne but looking back at the goal. He really should've made that pass to either Laws or Sail instead of in between them. But him being out of position at left-back he seems to fully shut off his body from opening out to use his left even before receiving the ball and even once receiving the ball he's probably not as confident as Sutton to then try open out and use his left when being pressed so he sort of forces himself into that error but even then he should be making that pass and we've seen him do that before with the All-Whites so probs can't put too much blame on being played out of position.

Happy with Waine, Elliot and Kraev
Lewis wasn't in the game first half, Sutton not at all, Pennington good and poor, Laws pretty good but stood off for the first goal, Wootten needs to do more than lump it forward, Old worked hard but didn't link too well with the strikers.
      Kosta and Payne hmm
    • I'm not overly happy with Sasse or Kraev. If it wasn't for the fcuk ups, Pennington was better than both of them. That shouldn't be the case.

With the amount of love you have for Pennington is your real name Filippo Cavadini???

  • I don't know what you mean but however much of a hard time some of you guys give me, I'll support Pennington while he's in NZ.
Yeah. Now I know what you mean. Yes ok.

I'm somewhat embarrassed about that post you've copied there. Never post while under the influence. I should know better...

He was trying to pass to Laws, passed to the space Laws was moving to but Laws held his run to open passing lane to Sail (and to hold Bulls player away from Sail) so pass ended up in no mans land. Really should have passed to Sail.

I know how annoying this must be for you. When I first joined and mentioned Lasogga, some people here kept trying to wind me up and would constantly ask if I was his agent. Just ignore those who are being silly and remember there are lots of people here who admire your passion and care about what you have to say. :)

The other option is that Wusty is a multi of an ex-forumer. But it would be amazing commitment to a character!

He's always just been solid, nothing spectacular. A good A-League footballer. Not sure what people are expecting.

Plus he provides experience along with Wootton in what is otherwise a young backline.

I'm really disappointed with Pennington's mistakes in this game.
I saw Pennington play one time in Italy. I guess that it was January 2016, maybe February. At my bar(Australian bar)we all supported  fanatically, Inter Milan and because of that of course we supported Piscopo who was in the Prima Vera.
Inter and Cagliari were the top 2 sides that season in the Primavera. A few of us went to watch this match, it got quite a good crowd and was covered by national TV in Italy. Unfortunately Piscopo was injured and didn't play.
What I remember from the game was that we were all celebrating, the clock was ticking to the end and Inter were winning 1-0. Absolutely from no where, with a second or 2 to go, Pennington popped up on Inter's Penalty spot, a ball was floated in by a defender from the halfway line and Pennington turned and volleyed it into the top corner. Game finished 1-1.
Of course I googled "Pennington" because it was an English name and found that he was another Australian in Italy.

I mean I wasn’t joking about clutch goals! I’m going to have almost as good memories about his volley to win it against Perth and his pen to beat City in last years cup run. Important strikes at high pressure moments, even if the scenery behind the goal was somewhat different.
