Two worst teams in the league that matched up well and it was watchable this week.

Some coaching calls from both camps interesting. Can't believe we took of Robertson??? she is our only real threat to any opposition, I thought if she stayed on we had hope of 3 points, especially when they took off their #17 who was lively and had a bit about her. All their coach needed to do was put their 9 alongside their 17 up top to play off each other and they would've won that game comfortably. Thought both coaches missed a trick or two.

Thought Clegg offered a bit more than others today. Gets back well to defend and help out but probably does too much of that because how bad we are without the ball, but she could be a chance of creating something moving forward if we improve.

How many times do we play them? Can only see them letting us win a game. Hope still there for a W. We need some proper coaches though to achieve that. I don't think this group responds well to current people in charge.

Some A league clubs not releasing players for Ferns games against USA. Not surprising at all. Bunge currently injured anyway.
That will put more pressure on the Nix team. Away to Perth (Liz Antons club) 3 days before the first USA game.

Will the UK teams WSL and SWFL release players?
Will we see some National league players given a chance. Jackson, O'Brien etc?
Really disappointing. I know it's outside the int window but many of these girls have never played a national team game (let alone against the world champ!) in Auck or Welly in front of a good crowd. Considering these teams have like one Kiwi player each, I'd say that's bad faith tbh.

Some pretty good play today. Hassett was again immense. Frustrating to see players not back themselves to shoot when in front of goal, instead taking an extra touch and getting the chance closed down. Barry excellent. Knott her best game this season. Why didn't we bring on McMeeken's pace when Vosper tired?? Could have made a big difference.

Agree re McMeekan
It’s clear Nat is defensively focused unlike Gemma who was attack oriented.
We created a lot more last year.

Playing for a draw at home is embarrassing. Smiling and laughing after that result is unacceptable. If i was a player and saw my coaches like that i would be off. But i guess our players can't go anywhere else and are all playing for a new contract - but they need more help no doubt about it

Play to win. simple as that.

Sense of irony here. Apparently our National league players are not up to A league standard and now they being considered for a game against the World champions??

Credit to both teams for trying to win it late on as it's likely to be one of their best chances this season to get the 3 points. Difficult to see how either will get out of bottom two placings though as neither looked comfortable building play and passes consistently through midfield into attacking areas.
For the Nix, keeper Edwards, centre-back Barry and midfielder Haskett impressed as did substitute wide midfielder Lancaster who must be close to a starting role (Pritchard to bench) along with defender McMeeken who has more athleticism (Vosper to bench). Absentees of Alfeld, Taylor, Satchell, Gomez, Rolston & Whinham.
For Western Sydney, substitute Price made a couple of classy moves and midfielder Harding & centre-back Hunt stood out.

Must say I enjoyed watching this game. Sure we have deficiencies in our squad. But the effort and commitment from these girls is beyond admirable.
