WPW R7 vs Adelaide United | Tues 27th March | 9:00pm | SS7

I’ve dipped in and out this season. Not such a good fan… I probably should watch some of the best teams in the league to see how big the step up is. And I’m a bit lost on the tactics and who is our focal player etc or what our weaknesses are v other teams. Except an import striker, of course! 

There are players playing in flexible positions? 
Knott less prominent than last season? Gomez rarely featuring? We’ve picked up some FFs who are tougher in possession? 

We’re we expecting to do better considering our squad?

A really good game, once again they keep on trying for the full 90. 3 good goals that were deserved. Candy did really good, pulling off a few good saves - especially that rocket shot. That will give the defence some confidence, knowing that she can step up. Edwards has improved but I am always looking at her height for a goalkeeper. Still in defence we have a solid foundation now and midfield is starting to jell. Up front, well how long can the Nix keep hold of Clegg?

I'm really happy for the women's team, it's been two seasons of hard knocks and lessons, yet throughout it all, the have never dropped their heads and have kept trying. If the club can keep them all here, I think next season will see some serious improvement as they all know what each other is capable off and play as a real squad. 

I'd love to see them win on Saturday, I'll be watching hopefully - I'm working and miss the double header (Sad). I've enjoyed watching their games, and in that respect, I have been following as many of the whole A League women's games for the last two years. Watching it improve each season. It kind of reminds me of the Men's 1st 2 or 3 seasons. Classic errors, yet some pretty good entertainment. 

I'm already fired up. I'd love to see them not finish bottom.

That pass by Emma Main to release Milly Clegg was great. The level of accuracy we have been missing all season.
Was good to see the coaches give a few more of the squad players a run. Pretty tough coming in after little game time.

In terms of goals scored/conceded, we are around the same as 7th/8th/9th. They just managed to wins points against us in games they probably didn't deserve.

Next season it will be a Top 6, so if we can find a 10 goal a season striker, we might be in the mix for a play off spot. Despite coughing up some easy goals, we are not that bad defensively, if you ignore the 8 conceded in the first two matches.

I don't think so. Surely the Reds defenders would be appealing vigorously to the lino?

clearly not as the goal was awarded.

I'd say touch and go too.  Tough to tell with camera angle and the running but it was either just on or just off.

Also tough because she's so bloody quick.
