The Phoenix are never going to win this comp sitting back a lot like they have... If Italiano has good insight as the head coach for next season it's crucial he gets the team playing more positively throughout & also showing more urgency.
eh not really true Western did that last year and won and I'm sure there have been some other teams other the years too. You just gotta have a lot more solid defence than we had and a couple of forwards who are clinical. But I agree I'd rather us play more positive football.

Playing positively really increases your chances of winning a comp at any level, that doesn't mean taking a lot of silly risks, also your backs don't have to have a ton of pace... the key is for your backs to have the mindset to move forward straightaway and executing an accurate short passing game etc, linking up with the midfield well, then feeding our forwards good quality ball to give them as many scoring opportunities as possible... Zawada needs more support up front next season too.

Phoenix need another striker that can score goals too other than just Zawada, which would give us more attacking options, if they mark Zawada out of the game, we have another striker out there that can score too, which helps take pressure off Zawada as well.
