How can we possibly lead group 2 if the Phoenix and CCM are both on 5 points? Because don't the CCM have better goal difference than us?

At the risk of getting carried away...
 
What happens if we top our group? Do we get another preseason game at the Ring of Fire? IF we better the CCM result vs Sydney we will top the group right?

Mathematically we could but would you bet on that Sydney shambles to get near the Mariners ?

FINALS - Fri 10 Aug 07 Through to Sun 12 Aug 07

7th/8th:Loser Match (c) vs Loser Match (d) @ Highest Placed Loser Match (c) / (d) determined venue
5th/6th: Winner Match (c) vs Winner Match (d) @ Highest Placed Winner Match (c) / (d) determined venue
3rd/4th: Loser Match (a) vs Loser Match (b) @ Highest Placed Loser Match (a) / (b) determined  venue
Final: Winner Match (a) vs Winner Match (b) @ Highest Placed Winner Match (a) / (b) determined venue


So we need to win the group or finish 3rd to be home for the next round, and it will be anyones guess how we end up home for the final round.

The bonus points do mean anything could happen in the next week though.

If we top the Group we will either host Adelaide or Newcastle unless Melbourne win and put 3 past Perth and Adelaide and Newcastle draw!
 
If we finish 3rd in the Group which would happen if either Sydney or Briasbane score 3 goals and win then we will still host another home match against the last placed team in Group A (which at the moment is Melbourne!)
