And he is in our midst on the forum somewhere.
In that case, if you are reading this Noah Hickey, I urge you to come out of retirement and try to get a place in the Phoenix. The team needs you.
It is great what Yellow Fever is doing and I know the boys would be loving it!!! I'll keep trying to give ya's a plug on Radiosport as much as pos. Keep up the good work and good luck this season, you'll be the best crowd in NZ by a mile!!! (hey you already are from what I heard in the weekend)
Cheers,
Noah.
Cheers for the comments guys, just to clear it up with you guys I
never came out and bagged Ricki Herbert. I said my only concern
with leaving the game was having one man do both jobs and it would
be ideal if we had two Ricki Herberts. Ricki is the right man
without a doubt! The media chose to make a big fall out story that
never existed and it is better for me to leave it now as the game
doesn't need anymore crap in the media. So there it is done and
dusted and to be forgotten so it's all about the Pheonix
now....
Nice stuff dude. Thanks for clearing it up.

Thanks for clearing that up Noah. I was just wondering, if next
season Ricki had proven that he could take on both jobs, would you
consider making yourself available then? You say the game in NZ
doesn't need to get any more stick from the media, but I'm sure if
you came to the club and helped the club do better their would be
nothing but praise coming from the media.
LOL, it all makes so much sense
Hold on, I think you are all getting a bit carried away here.

Hollywood Hickey
So apparently Noah was on Radio Sport this morning after 8.30
talking up the Yellow Fever website. And he is in our midst on the
forum somewhere.
I cant get the Radio Sport Audio bank to play that time slot
unfortunately - think there might be a problem with it.
Good old Noah. He's done NZ football proud with his attitude. A
shame he and Buncey aren't on the Phoenix books.
Wait...Weren't they bagging Ricki not long ago?
Not sure they were bagging Ricki as such. More raising the
potential issues with him doing both jobs and the shambles that the
South American tour was.

Right Back Farken !
I love Noah Hickey.
I remember he used to come for an odd post on the old forum.
Great guy.
Hey, I loved Noah Hickey's comitted blood & guts style of
play. He gave it 110% for club and country. And I really
enjoyed watching him play. However I was a bit disappointed
at the way he chose to bow out of football. From what I read
at the time he and Buncey were bagging our Ricki Herbert, and
to me it smacked of sour grapes as they weren't likely to get a
place at the Phoenix. Just how I saw it. Others will
have their own thoughts I guess.
Hickey woulda been picked up by the Phoenix. Just about the best
player for the Knights last year in my opinion.
Im pretty sure he thought that Herbert couldn't handle both
jobs, and as this season we have seen no evidence that he can, I
dont think we should blame Noah to muck for his comments.
Its kinda sad to think that when Ricki took over NZ he chose Noah
to be his right hand man amongst the players and now the two seem
to be at loggerheads.

Noah,
When are you going to pop down to wellies and join us in the
stands? That'd be bloody marvelous!
phil_style2007-07-25 11:34:55
To be fair to Noah, when he was fit, he was/is a class footballer
with nice touches. He played at decent clubs when he was injured
and when he did get fit, he was at a shyte outfit. I don't know if
I agree with how Ricki used him in his various roles, but you never
saw the dude really complain and he played well with what he was
given. He was positive in the media and in this country, thats a
rarity (are you reading this Dewhurst?) I can recall his game at
Yarrows Stadium in Jan 05 when him and Allan Pearce had joined
Waitakere and they tore Manawatu to pieces, in spite of the fact
that the game as a whole was rubbish.
Hollywood? So the guy wants to dress well and look decent. Professional sportsperson and professional image. A few Warriors and All Blacks could learn from it. I don't hear anyone saying Hollywood Dan Carter. It was about time the Brockie got rid of his dread locks cause he looked a mess.
As far with dealing with him on the pitch, he never gave me any stick as a ref (not saying he is squeaky clean) so I got no beef with the guy.
Good luck at Gisbournofski and future endeavours.

He has left one spot open and im pretty sure you could plug the rb
spot for him, at the moment no one really has it.
Come Back Hickey, Come Back Hickey....
that is about the most sycophantic comment I have ever read on
this site.
Hold on, I think you are all getting a bit carried away here.
Just reading between the lines of Noah's post it's easy to get
a handle on the real story:
- Noah and Ricki had a big bust-up in Venezuela over the
affections of a local beauty queen. Noah had been chatting her up
all night but while he was in the toilet Ricki put the moves on her
and sealed the deal by telling her that he was Noah's care-giver
and he was taking Noah to see Disney World before he died of
incurable leprosy.
- Noah also objected to Ricki insisting that the players
referred to him only as "The Phoenix King" or "Sir Ricki, Lord of
the Phoenix" on the same tour.
- It's also obvious that Noah thinks Yellow Fever is a
stupid name (the team plays in black!) and that the forum
is home to the kind of freaks and social retards that are the
natural enemy of a super fit sport billy like himself.
- When Noah says "you'll be the best crowd in NZ by a
mile!!!" it's obvious that what he really means is
"you're a bunch of limp-dicks who make about as much noise as my
grandmother's respirator".
- By mis-spelling Phoenix as Pheonix Noah has betrayed
his sub-conscious belief that the Phoenix is a disaster
waiting to happen and that like the sh*t dumped from an
airplane's toilet the whole mess is just looking for somewhere to
land.
- And finally, I can't believe you all missed his clear
inference that Terry Serepisos has the same dress sense as
blanket man.
I hate to be the one saying the Emperor's got no clothes but
someone had to expose this ridiculous charade!
