He was Brady's "go to" guy all season but I don't think that was the only reason. Brady had an awful game and that many turnovers will kill you.The big question for me is whether Flacco can win a game for the Ravens if they come up against a D that can stop their run game. I don't think so personally.
I thought Pats missed Welker big time. Since the Pats don't really have a dominant running game, they use passes on short patterns to Welker as its equivalent, as it can move the chains in short yardage situations, and if you don't stay close enough to him he can hit you for a big gain, and this requires safeties to creep up the field to stop that. This opens up the pass down the field, as you can get Moss in 1-on-1 situaions a bit more easily. Without Welker, the Pats struggled to execute this type of offense. Although the pressure the Ravens got on Brady surprised me a bit, but I also thought Brady sought to hold on to the ball for too long at times.
Looking ahead to the divisional games, I feel quietly confident about the game with the Cards. If Will Smith and the rest of the D-line can put pressure on Warner, he can crumble, and that could open up turnover opportunites for our secondary. Our offense should be able to put up a good number of points on them, since I don't think the Cards D is anything other than average.
Think the Cowboys will take care of Minny, and Indy and San Diego to win their games relatively comfortably.
