hi mods, now first up you lot do a great job (and i
guess it's not always east to keep everyone happy) and the
board is top notch.
Regarding the post above, it seems Anfieldhard has had his
words altered by Hardnews.
I'm a bit concerned that in trying to keep everyone happy
(including the outside media) we might end up 'censoring ' or
misrepresenting people's ideas.
Rather than editting someone elses post, wouldn't it be better
(more clear/honest/democratic etc) to delete any post that causes
offence, pm the sender or post a reply where their original post
was and ask them if they want to resubmit it in their own
words (but with whatever caused offence altered).
Otherwise, aren't you (in trying to do your job) 'putting
words into other people's mouths' so to speak.
In posting this I'm not after an argument for the sake of it,
i just think that as a board it would be good if we work out the
best way to let people speak their minds and at the same time not
cause offence.
cheers, Ed

I expect that if stuff gets deleted people might figure out
what lines they can't cross. Do people who've had stuff deleted get
an email - or do they just worry that they are losing their marbles
??
Just wondering Feverish ...
How do the mods work out what's 'over the top'?? I suppose
some of it is just commonsense application of the rules but are
there ever any grey areas??
Was there any thought about using the yellow card (24 hour
ban) red card (permanent ban) system that the footymad sites
use?
cheers
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

We actually deleted a post of a mod today (he got a bit fired
up)
If it's gotta go it's gotta go - and somebody will know when
it's gone - or we will PM them and give comment when
necessary.
We have deleted users before.
Pretty much Spam and when it gets too personal are the big

There was nothing dodgy in that. Sent you a PM on it
Tigers.
If I ever remove content or change the content of a post I'll note it in the thread. If I delete you just won't see it.
All I did there was fix the formatting because it was getting impossible to read.
